Chapter Three

I sat on one of the couches in the living room, reading a teen magazine. I was in the middle of marveling over Taylor Lautner's abs. I was sort of bored, and apparently these ancient ones don't have internet connection here.

Brayden had walked in on me drooling over Taylor. He shook his head in disappointment and told me how Werewolves were too fake, tan bodies plus hot abs and all. I had shook my head in disappointment at that.

Just as I was going to flip the page, Emily came into the living room in a flash.

"So, Sophia. How about that shopping offer?" Emily chirped.

"Sure. I, uh, got asked to Ad Infinitum by Kasper." I admitted sheepishly. "I don't own many dresses, so I need one."

She shrieked as I slightly covered my ears and winced. "ONE outfit for the ball, and that's it. Nothing more."

She rolled her eyes as if saying 'I'll just take you shopping first, and persuade then.' "Sure, sure." she waved off.

Grabbing my short, plaid jacket and my shoes, I trailed after Emily to her car.

My jaw dropped when I saw her car. It was none other than a Koenigsegg, ranking ten in one of the world's most expensive cars at a whooping five hundred forty-five thousand dollars!

"How the hell did you even get your hands on this car?" I gasped in awe.

She gave a quick 'pfft'. "Wait till you see Aar-" her eyes went wide. "I MEAN KASPER'S CAR.

"Okay then..." I said awkwardly.

This is going to be a long day, I thought after I saw all her credit cards scattered in the back seat.

-

"COME ON!" Emily insist, dragging me into a salon.

"I SAID I'D ONLY BUY A DRESS!" I reminded her as I tried to stop her.

"WELL YOU CAN'T GO TO THE BALL LOOKING LIKE A TROLL!" she retorted.

"Wow, thanks for the huge compliment." I mutter sarcastically. Muttering got me nowhere, because of her ultra sensitive hearing, she could hear me from a mile away. She stopped and turned to face me.

"What I mean is - when was the last time you got a haircut?" she asked As she took a piece of my hair and pretending to snip the ends with her fingers. "Look at all the split ends!"

I groaned. "Split ends, schmit bends. No one's going to be so close that they'll be able to see them."

"What about a dye job? Everyone gets tired of their hair color sometime in life."

"And this isn't my time."

"You could reshape your eyebrows!"

"I'm good. I don't plan on walking out with red eyes."

"GAAH! YOU'RE IMPOSSIBLE!" she scowled. "Just go to the boutique across from the salon, and I'll meet you there after I get my hair done."

I looked both ways of the street before crossing, and entering 'L'Amour Boutique'. It looked like a high end boutique judging from the display case in the front. Dresses of all sorts were on display, along with matching heels and clutches.

Just as I walked in, the little bell on the door rang. Immediately, a sales associate came to my side.

"Hi and welcome to L'Amour boutique. My name is Sarah; would you like some help browsing?" she asked.

"Sure." I agreed, kinda clueless on what to pick.

"Okay, so what's the occasion?"

I couldn't just say 'Royal BALL'. It was too elegant, and she'd probably die from laughter, thinking I'D get invited to one. "Formal." was all I said.
