AS LONG AS YOU LOVE ME: CHAPTER EIGHT

The smell of sausage and eggs woke me from my slumber. I sniffed as my body shifted only to smack into a mouthful of cushion. Slowly, I opened my eyes groaning in the process, only to see the frame of Chaz's leather sofa. I rolled my eyes and turned in the opposite direction, only to groan once again. The bright sun shined throughout the living room, giving off a vibrant glow, which only made the headache I had increase. Hurriedly, I pushed the green rough like material off of my petite body and stood. When I rose from the ground, I realized my headache wasn't as bad as it usually was when I was coming down made me conclude that someone had given me medicine after last nights events.

"Good morning, Van!" Chaz's voice echoed as he appeared from the hallway. Van? Only Justin called me that. Were they cool? Of course, Vanessa. Justin was well-known. He had to be, regardless of him claiming to lay low. The way he moved, he had to be known. Chaz slowly entered the living room, causing to me to quickly slap my hand to my forehead.

"Shhhhh, don't talk. Just show me the food." I mumbled, a fake smile plastered on my face.

"Right this way." He winked, his voice still as loud as before. I rolled my eyes and followed him, my feet hitting the hallways cold wooden floor. Starting to reach my hands up, I threw some of my long messy brown, blondish hair back attempting to remove it from my face. As we waddled down the hallway, passing an endless amount of family portraits I began to smile, thinking of how we grew up together. Little Chaz and I made me giggle which received furrowed eyebrows from Chaz in response.

As we entered the kitchen the smell of sausage and eggs hit my nose harshly. Eagerly, I plopped down into one of the cushion like seats that surrounded the complimentary table and reached for the green ceramic plate that held the sausage and bacon; I grabbed a few pieces and began to reach for the other plates that held: pancakes, waffles, eggs, toast and fruit. A small sniff came from Ryan who I hadn't acknowledged before. My head shot up and my eyes burned into Ryan's multicolored ones; he was already staring at me. For a moment we just stared at each other; no movement was made until Chaz cleared his throat. As soon as he did that Ryan's eyes jerked away from me and focused back on his half empty plate. Sighing, I began to do the same however, every time I stuffed my face with Chaz's home made sausage and eggs, I continuously took glances at him. I was unaware if we were all cool or not dude to the events of last night and our latest altercations in general.

"Where's Justin?" I questioned, after taking a large gulp of my orange juice, my headache slightly fading, as I stuffed food into my mouth.

"He's upstairs knocked out. Taking care of you will take a toll on anybody." Chaz replied, setting down his cup of coffee beside me as he sat down. I stared at him deadpan.

"All jokes, all jokes." Chaz said, throwing his hands up.

"I can't believe he actually wanted to attend our school for you. You're just as tiresome if not more."

"Ouch. Maybe you'll run him off into attending school online again."

"Any friend of yours is a friend of mine, I promise not to."

"Mhm."

"Mmm.." I mumbled, wiping my mouth with the napkin I was provided with and removed myself from the table. "He's in the guest room?" I questioned, turning to leave the room. I've been in Chaz's place multiple times before so I knew my way around as if this was my own home. Occasionally, I would like to say it is. Sometimes his family was here other times they weren't. Grabbing my plate and cup I began to walk towards the trash can to depose the napkin and then headed towards the sink to place the dishwater down to be washed.

"Yes ma'am." Chaz said in response, searching the fridge for something different to drink. Once he said those words, I quickly stalked down the hall and up the stairs to see Guitar Dude.
