Jake is an ordinary guy, in high school, a senior to be more exact. He's not so ordinary though, because he has to escort people to their deaths or love. He slips letters in their lockers at school and a month later, there's the strangest looking guy at your door or barges into your life. That's Jake, or maybe his best friend, Luke. People who escort people to their destiny are called, Destines. Jake and Luke are both "famous" football players that every girl have crushes on. Every girl except the girl Jake likes, Anna. She actually hates his guts, to death. Destines aren't supposed to fall in love with humans. So Jake is actually an outcast in the Destines world.

"H-hey A-anna!" Jake blurts out towards Anna while running up to catch up to her. Jake rubs his hands on his blue jeans as Anna lets out a huge, loud angered sigh.

"What is it this time?" Anna says while stopping and turning towards Jake. Jake's face instantly turns a cherry red, as he nervously smiles at her.

"I uh I just wanted to talk to you is all," Jake replies to Anna, angry sounding question.

"That's what you always say," Anna says, starting to walk. Jake notices and jumps a little to catch up.

"But I have some news this time!" Jake stumbles out as Anna walks faster to get away from him.

"Mmhhhmm," Anna nods "And what might that be?"

"I got on the football team," Jake says and Anna looks up, letting out a huge laugh. "What?" Jake says as he shrugs his shoulders.

"Of course you did. That's not real news," Anna says as she turns to walk into school. Jake stands there in shock, as Anna actually talked to him. She usually just waves sloppily and walks away. Luke runs past Jake, slapping his shoulder. Jake shakes his head while quietly laughing to himself. He jogs up the stairs and walks into school just as the bell rings.

"OH SHOOT," Jake yells as he run down the long, extending hall towards homeroom. The door slams shut in his face just as he arrives. Jake desperately bangs on the door, hoping someone will let him in. You can hear laughs coming from the classroom, as Mrs. Blunt walks towards the door looking over her glasses.

"And where have you been Mr. Jake Monroy?" Mrs. Blunt says kind of loudly as the door swings open.

"I uh we were erm...Walk?" Jake stumbles out. Mrs. Blunt opens the door and motions with her arm for Jake to enter. He nods and points into the classroom as he walks past her. He shuffles over to his desk, while all the girls stare at him. Some of the other football players handshake Jake as he sits at his desk in the back.
