The Holiday

Chapter One

Choi's mysterious smirk lit up his entire face — still buzzing from a cellphone made it disappear. She wondered why he would trust a hidden reporter, Claire was starting to regret deceiving Choi.

"Yes, I understand." He replied. Claire searched for any emotion but saw none in his gaze. It worried her, who just called him?

"I will leave first." Choi gruffly bowed and left the library making Claire feel like he was reserving some kind of news. Claire signed and carried on finding out more additional facts.

Choi looked around making sure no one followed him through the outside hallway to his own suite. There he will call back the detective a sense of hope took over as he stumbled for his phone.

"What did you find?" He began hearing his detective voice on the other line.

"Your sister record does not exist." with that, the detective hung up the phone.

Choi's heart ached more anxious about being lonely for always. His hands shook feeling unsettled about ever finding Mei again.

Choi stared at his reflection as a deep bruise darkened on his shoulder. He wondered how long will he be able to keep up the lie about fighting at a bar; nobody seemed to believe it.

As he winced putting a bandage on the injury, Choi chose a royal blue cotton button down; knowing tonight he had to entertain a whole room of guests.

Choi rubbed his shoulder preparing for the party he was dreading. He loathed small talk but Jayden once again ordered him to host the first wine tasting party with the new guest.

Around the corner, Claire sat patiently reading from her computer about the bed and breakfast. Claire's stomach growled interrupting her from finding more evidence.

Fortunately, Choi walked through the open loggia right past her, so she decided to follow.
