I left the kitchen and walked into the guest room. I left the bed for Anna to sleep in while Toby and I slept on the floor right beside the bed. It was extremely cold that night. An half hour later, Anna was sound asleep while Brad came inside, "I can't sleep, can we talk?" Brad asked. He sat down next to Toby in his floor bed, while putting his feet under the blankets.
"What's going on with you guys?" He asked us. "We were going to a party, but a giant meteor crashed into our car hurting all of us including Iris who is in hospital right now" Toby said to Brad. I got up from the floor and walked to the centre of the room. "Watch this, and hold your hands over your ears" I rubbed my hands together and clapped, causing a huge ripple to go through the the room, cracking the windows. "Woah! What is that?" Anna said while waking up. "What the...you have powers?" Brad asked me. "You ain't seen nothing yet" Toby exclaimed. While taking off his shirt, Brad noticed multiple cracks in Toby's chest, with ice coming through it. "Are you okay babe?" Brad asked Toby as he touched the cracks on his chest. I turned around and looked through the window...a strange figure was standing outside the house, next to a tree.
"Who is that guy?" I turned back around and quietly called Toby. He tiptoed over to the window and stood next to me, while putting his arm over my shoulder. "What is that guy doing?" He asked me...Brad looked over and frowned when he saw Toby's arm over my shoulder. We carried on watching the mysterious man, but after a few longs seconds, he ran away. Toby and I sat back down on the floor beds and Brad got up. "You want some coffee?" Brad asked us. "Yeah, I would love some, since Jack woke me up with his freakish powers" Anna yelled. "Jack, can I speak to you again, in the kitchen?" Brad asked, which seemed strange because we did speak moments before. "Sure" I said, not knowing what I was about to walk into, I rushed into the kitchen with Brad once again. He put on the kettle and took out some cups. "Is there something between you and Toby?" He asked me without turning around. "No, I mean we're best friends, but that's it. By the way, I am into girls you know?" I said to him.
"His just so comfortable with you. With me he has to hide because he cares about what my family thinks" Brad whimpered. "Look dude, be who you are. Toby really likes you" I replied. Brad quickly poured hot water into the cups, stirred it and handed me a cup of coffee. "We cool?" He asked me. "As long as we stay friends, I kind of like this thing we have going here" I replied to him while smiling. We walked back to the room and gave Toby and Anna cups of coffee. We continued to talk through the night about pointless things.
The next morning, we woke up and I noticed that Toby wasn't in his bed. I got up and walked to Brad's room and saw Toby lying next to Brad. I smiled. I was feeling happy for both of them because Toby never seemed this happy since Eli was still alive. He was our best friend. He died in a car crash, leaving Toby's house party. Toby never forgave himself for Eli's death.
When the mist disappeared outside, I woke everyone up and cooked them breakfast, "Eat" I told them. "Wow, you helped yourself to the food! I like this guy already" Brad joked. "I assumed you guys would be hungry, so I made this" I pushed the plates of food forward. "Thank you, at least one person around here getssss...." Anna stuttered and looked around and saw that the entire lunch table was in the back yard. "ANNA what the fuck, we're outside!" Brad yelled, I looked around and then down at her hands and noticed a purple hand print on the table. "You did that, didn't you?" I asked her. "It can't be...did I..." Anna didn't know what to say. "You can teleport!" Toby yelled out loud. "Shut up!" Anna screamed at Toby. "Well I'm hungry, so I'm staying here" Brad joked. "This isn't funny!" Toby said to Brad while pulling his extremely long blonde hair. Anna ran inside the house and I ran after her. "Hey, wait!" I yelled. "What's wrong with me?" She asked sitting down on a chair. "Nothing, there's nothing wrong with you! I know how you feel, like some weirdo, like the whole world is about to fall on you" I explained to her.
I put my cold hands on her face, "Look at me" I said. She looked at me while a tear sparkled in her eye. "Thank you for being there for me, when nobody was" she cried. She slowly leaned in... and kissed me. I didn't pull away, I carried on kissing her...it felt right. I held her hand and said, "Come on, let's go outside and finish breakfast and talk about it later okay". We walked out and sat down at the table which was right next to the pool. "Well, we have to get this 12 ton table back inside" Brad said. I knew that I would become good friends with him, because of his sense of humour. We were then done eating,
"Game Plan" I said.
