The day was a shiny winter on a Sunday as I sat on the couch in the living room. As I sat there, I started to think about the future. I knew everything will change eventually. I was thinking rather I wanted to become a engineer or a cook. I heard footsteps coming from the kitchen to the living room. I heard a sweet soft voice asking "what are you doing on the couch when there's work to be done?"
I looked up to see my second older sister,Maria. She stood there staring at me with her hands on hips. She looked serious at the moment but I knew what to do. "You're bossy,Orie," I said playfully getting up. "Besides,I was thinking about my graduation diploma certificate."
"You have two months to think about that but there's work to be done. So get started on the house."
"It's ALMOST done." As I looked at the ceiling then back at her. "I just need Felix to help me with the ceiling."
"Well then go get him!" As she pointed to the door that leads to the outside.
"I was right along, you are bossy," as I walked out of the living room. "Hey Philip," as I saw my other brother, Felipe.
"Hey Jorge, ¿qué estás haciendo?"
"Nada, solo pensando en mi graduacion." I said going over to the oven where he was. "Phillip, should I be salutation or valedictorian?"
"Why worry?" A voice making me stupid and I turn to see Margarita, my younger sister said at the table.
"Yeah," said Maria coming in. "There's only two seniors graduating in 1987. That's you and Gary." She said as Felipe and Margarita laughing.
"HEY!! You two!" Said Rolando opening the door pointing at me and Felipe. "Dad wants you two outside right now!"
"Ooo!" Margarita said. "Someone's in trouble." And I rolled my eyes as me and Felipe started to walk outside.
"Where's Felix?" Rolando asked.
"He's upstairs." I answered.
"And Sylvia?" Asked dad.
"She's in the barn."
"Let's get this house done!" Dad said giving me a hammer and Felipe a ranch. "Rolando, get Felix."
