In a masquerade sea of people
Swirling in and out of my view
I see masks of stone
Emotions that never change
Emotions to fit society
Painted smiles that never reach their eyes
Masks of all media's paper, paint, cloth, and
feathersI have a secret
Behind my mask of glass and lace
Are unshed tears and words I dear not speak
Because if I did then my mask will shatter
Reviling my thoughts and dreams
Reviling the me controlled by sadness and fear
The me that's the same but different in this
masquerade worldIt's easy to forget who we are behind a mask
It's easy to forget the cruelty all around
But the weight of the lies we make will shatter
the masks of all
