Clive walks up to her, "hits close to home when you see someone else treated like you were." Amoura says as she visualizes every scar on her body. "Treated like nothing more than a lab rat." Amoura throws the knife in her hand across the room. "And you stopped them from doing anymore damage."
"To them. There many more human base all over Russia. We just took down one. One Clive. How many more of our men are being treated like lab rats for that filthy mole's selfish agendas!" Amoura growls, "we get your rage. Stone." She looks over and sees the Commanders walking into the loading dock where all the vehicles are housed.
"All due respect you don't get anything." Amoura walks out, "can you explain McAllister?" Johnson looks at Clive as the door closes behind them, "the reason A- Commander Stone has such amazing healing abilities is because General Alzack experimented on her. He killed her multiple times just to ensure the enhancer worked properly. Her rage is directed to the man who willingly gave up his men so humans can do this to them."
Commander Johnson sighs, "I had heard about Alzack's reputation but to think he'd go that far." Johnson looks at Clive once more, "anything else?" Clive looks at him, "Alzack is dead because of her, Amoura doesn't take betrayal lightly, she will find the leak and what she did tonight will be nothing compare to what she'll do to him." Clive stares at Rory as he walks out.
The next morning Commander Volkov asks Amoura to return to the table, so she does. "Believe it or not Stone this is where you belong." Amoura nods at Volkov's words as she slips in and out of her day dream. "Amoura you haven't formally met yet, this is Commander Rubio, Commander Sakano and that's Commander Takashi." They shake hands.
"Stone." Amoura zones back in as they call her, "you haven't been paying attention. What's on your mind?" Lang who arrived just last night with her unit asks, "nothing relevant to this." Amoura replies as she slides her fingers across her left hand, making sure its still intact.
"So regarding the information you sent us last night, we figured out how it is our frontline troops are being wiped out. If we can find a way to neutralize the toxins the humans let out into the air-" Amoura zones out once more, nothing they say, she hasn't told herself.
Amoura realizes something, "all of us here say we are of good intention, but the truth is one of us is doing something for their selfish agenda. So from now on missions of any and all kind should be Commander unit based and not unit type base. This might weaken our forces but it can also keep our numbers high. We cannot ask each other to risk our own men. For all we know the next Commander one of us pairs up with can be the mole and they take our own unit down. No one is stupid enough to take out their own men. If you trust a fellow Commander with your unit that is fine. But if you don't the best way to eliminate in-house kills is to use this tactic."
"So Commander Johnson the only Commander you'll be letting near your unit?" I look at Volkov, "no. I mean yes I do trust him, but he's not the only one. Sollov has made it very clear from day one she doesn't fancy me. She's never hidden from her dislikes, meaning she is honest with who she is. If she was the mole she'd had slipped and said something incriminating by now."
"The doctor said you have no recollection of the past few months, for all you know she could have done something incriminating." Amoura nods, "that's true, but a person doesn't change. They can hide it all they want, but their habits will always stick out one way other the other." Amoura looks at Commander Rory who nods at her.
"You sound like a therapist." Amoura stares at Rory, "there are many ways to break a person other than breaking their bones." They look at her and agree.
Johnson holds back after all the other Commanders walk out, "what's your plan now Amoura?" She looks at him as she picks up her things, "if you're dirty how do you keep suspension off of you?" Johnson follows Amoura's train of thought, "by playing the victim."
"The unit who is attacked the most either has crappy luck-" he cuts her off "or he's trying not to look guilty." She nods and they walk off.
The next few months go by and the S.I.D.O's take advantage using the information they gained from the human camp has helped them minimize the front line casualties. The S.I.D.O was winning so after leaving a whole new set of strategies Amoura is sent back home, her unit stays behind with Johnson in control.
"Amoura! I'm so glad you called. Hold on your dad is getting the girls." Amoura thanks her mother before catches her up on her situation. "Well, I booked a flight for tomorrow so I can fix up the house before your arrival." Amoura thanks her mom as her daughters come on screen. "Creator!"
"I give your father to much time around you guys." Amoura mutters as they continue to call her Creator, "why did I marry such a strange man."
"Too late to regret that now." Amoura jumps as Clive speaks up, he kisses her forehead before sitting down, "creator!" Amoura give Clive the side eye, "I cannot believe you taught them to call you - and me - creator." Clive smiles victoriously at her. "How you two doing?" Clive squeezes Amoura's hand as Amari and Mirai start babbling on about their adventures.
"Enjoy being home Amoura," Clive kisses her temple after they hang up the face-time call. "I will. I'll get to be there for their second birthday. Be careful Clive." Amoura leans into him, "I will." Amoura pulls him in for another kiss, "here in public?" Amoura smiles, "shut up before I change my mind." Clive chuckles as he slowly pushes her down.
That weekend Amoura gets on a small private plane and returns to Tuscany.
