End This War

The sun is bright and kissing her milky white skin, her wavy hair is in the right places, as Artemis Helene's standing on the left corner of the hallway. Everyone is greeting her with a smile as she reciprocates it. Artemis is a smart young lady, she is on top of her class and for that, everyone adores her, except for that one person.

And that person is her step sister, Athena Olivia.

Athena Olivia hates Artemis. They were in the same class even though before their parents remarry. Athena Olivia is a spoiled brat and everyone in the college knows that, but despite that she's smart.

The hatred started that supposedly faithful day.

"Artemis, you know that daddy is soon to be married, right?"

"Yes, Dad." A seventeen year old Artemis said with a nod.

"Are you fine with it, baby?" her Dad asked with a hopeful expression.

"Of course, Daddy. As long as it makes you happy, I'm fine with it."Artemis said joyfully.

"Your Auntie is kind, Artemis. She is lovely and beautiful." her father described with love in his eyes.

"I'm sure she is, Dad. I trust your taste." Artemis chuckled.

"Ah, before I forgot, I have something to tell you, Artemis. I'm sure you will be delighted!" Said her dad with a smile.

"You are finally having a sister!" Her Dad said excitedly.

"For real? Thank God!" Artemis said happily and then she hugged her Dad.

On the other hand, Athena Olivia was not delighted at having a sister. What she only want is a father, she does not need a sibling, she does not want a sibling. She is fine by all herself. She does not want to share her loving Mom. All her life, her mother, only loves her. Her mother only looks at her, cares for her.

Their parents got married. Their parents are happy. Artemis is happy for her Dad. Athena is happy for her Mom, she married a good guy. But, she was not happy for herself. Since then, Athena Olivia started to hate Artemis Helene. Her Mom was getting fond of Artemis, she feels annoyed. Day by day, Athena Olivia's feeling was getting worse, as she was envious. She wants the love of their parents only for herself.

She felt like an outcast, slowly, she felt like her Mom whom she loves the most was slowly drifting away from her. She blames Artemis for all of that.

"Good morning, Olive." Artemis greeted Athena delightfully.

Athena arched her brow. Only her Mom is allowed to call her that.

Artemis always wondered why Athena was acting that way. She loves Athena Olivia, they're family. She is a family.

The bell rang and classes were dismissed. Artemis decided to wait for Athena, they have a family dinner later that evening. Their Dad said that they have a surprise for them, he told Artemis to tell Athena about the surprise.

Two hours had passed and still Artemis cannot find Athena Olivia. Then out of nowhere, Athena Olivia finally showed up. She was at the Library the whole time.

"Olive, Daddy said that they have a surprise for us. He wants us to go home together."

"Go home by yourself, I can go home on my own."

As hard headed as Athena Olivia is, she does not want to come with her oh so almost perfect step sister. She loathes her! Artemis stole the love and attention of her Mother.

Athena Olivia was always fond of eating street foods, she may be a brat but she is not picky with food.

The sun was salmon and hazy at the west, Artemis followed Athena. Athena was preoccupied by her thoughts while a raging car is coming on her way.

"Olive!" Artemis shouted with all her heart.

Athena Olivia on the other hand was shocked, she was trembling. Fear was evident all over her face, her heart beats abnormally, she didn't know what to do, she uttered a short prayer.

BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP!!!!!

Artemis moved swiftly, she pulled the trembling Athena on her side.

"God! Athena Olivia! What are you thinking?! Are you out of your mind? Are you fine?" Athena Olivia still cannot move, she thought the car's gonna hit her.

"I......I'm fine." She said as she was trying not to shed a tear. Artemis immediately enveloped Athena in a hug.

"Thank God you are fine! I didn't know what to do if you really got hit, that was too close"Artemis said worriedly.

"I hate you Artemis Helene! No, I loathe you! You stole my Mom's love away from me." Athena Olivia is now crying.

"What? I didn't steal anything from you." Artemis responded.

"Stop feigning innocence! Stop being so freaking perfect!" Athena Olivia shouted in Artemis Helene's face.

"I am not perfect, Olive. And I'm not trying to be."

"You stole my Mom!" Driven by her emotion, Athena cried angrily.

"I am not stealing away anything or anyone from you, Olivia! Your Mom loves you very much! Every time we were together, she was telling me how lovely you are, how smart you are, how good of a daughter you are. She was always telling me that she was proud of you, that she was thankful that she have you! For everything that she had been through was worth it because you are there by her side! I was jealous, Hell yes! I never had the chance to meet my Mom, she died because of having me! She died because she chose me! She died minutes after I was born! Do you know how I cried and prayed so hard every night wishing to feel her embrace even just for a second? I will trade everything I have, just to have that! So stop thinking that way! Your Mom loves you more than anything in this world!"

Artemis Helene can't help it but to cry helplessly. She was happy having a loving and a wonderful Father, she always think that it's more than enough but of course, she's just fooling her self. Deep inside, she was always missing her Mother.

Athena Olivia was shocked. She didn't know.

"I...... I'm sorry, Artemis. I didn't know. I'm sorry for hating you. For loathing you." Athena Olivia apologised. She hugged Artemis.

"Let's End this war, Artemis. I'm so sorry for everything and thank you for saving me, Sister." They both cried.

"No, Olive. We are not going to end this war. At the first place, there was never a war. We are family. You are my sister."

Athena Olivia realised how blessed she is for having her sister, her family.

As they got home, their parents are happy that finally their daughters are fine. Their parents told them about the surprise and everyone is really happy. There is another addition to their wonderful Family, their Mom is pregnant and they were all hoping for a bouncing baby boy. Months had passed, their Mom gave birth to a bouncy baby boy namely, Kronos Alejandro. Thankfully, God heard their prayers. And the family lives happily.
