The skies were dark and the rain was pouring hard unto the ground. A blonde haired girl sat there inside a local cafe, enjoying her cup of coffee and a book.
"Lucy, did you wait long?" The said girl looked up and saw her friend, Kira.
"No, not really. I just got here a few minutes ago" Lucy smiled at her red headed friend, who sighed in relief. "So, how's the job hunting going?"
Lucy stiffened a bit at the question. The company where Lucy used to work in was shut down for illegal things that their boss did, which left her jobless. She's been looking for a job for months and couldn't find one.
The only thing that was putting food into her stomach and paying bills was her part time job at a restaurant, which didn't pay her much. Kira tried to offer Lucy a job at her brother's company but Lucy wouldn't accept it, she didn't want to feel like a burden to her friend.
"Nothing yet?" Kira asked, noticing her friend's expression. Lucy nodded, "I just can't seem to find a decent job"
"You'll figure something out" Kira smiled, trying to ease her friend's worries. Lucy smiled back, half-heartedly.
"I'm hoping so" Lucy looked out again at the pouring rain outside. Kira gazed at her blonde friend with a sad look, she's been trying to help her but Lucy had always rejected her help. Even at the time when Lucy REALLY needed money, she turned down Kira's offer.
Kira couldn't understand why but she chose to respect Lucy's decision and just support her, helping her with little things. "Kira," the purple eyed girl hummed in response. "Ah, it's nothing. Forget I said anything"
The red head shrugged and continued to sip her caramel frappe.

Lucy's Point of View
"Good morning, Kinana" I smiled at my purple haired co-worker, who returned the smile. "Good morning, Lucy!"
I went to the back and changed into my waitress uniform, fixing my hair into a ponytail. There weren't a lot of customer today, which meant I wouldn't have to run around much in my heels. They were part of the uniform so I couldn't complain.
"The trout is for table 4 and the pancakes are for table 6" Kinana informed me, I nodded and took the 2 dishes.
"Here you go, sir. I hope you have a wonderful meal" I smiled at the customer who in turn, thanked me.
As I was walking to two more tables with my arms full of dishes, I suddenly lost my footing on one of the steps that lead to the other part of the restaurant and all the dishes went flying.
I groaned and looked up, my vision a bit blurry and my body in slight pain from the impact. "What the heck?" I heard a chilling voice above me.
My eyes looked up and saw a raven haired man wearing a crisp navy blue suit. He was covered in food and had a sour expression on his face. I immediately stood up, despite the pain in my ankle, and started apologizing.
"I'm so sorry sir! P—please forgive me!" My heart was racing and my cheeks were dusted pink, I was so dead.
"S—sir, are you alright?" I heard another voice, I looked up and saw a light blue haired lady start to clean the raven haired man. I took out my handkerchief and offered it to the man. "P—please, use t—this"
He took the handkerchief and wiped his face but he still had that 'I'll-kill-you-in-your-sleep' look that made me shiver.
