Chapter 4 - No turning back

Harley's POV
The cops in big, black suits are holding their guns and getting ready to fire.
"Oh come on guys, can't we figure this out?" The joker says, sarcastically.
"Hold up your hands and drop your weapon!" One cop shouts from the top of his lungs, but he was shivering with fear.
"Or what? You will shoot?" The joker laughs and laughs. "Come on, try and shoot me." He says with a huge smile on his face, showing his shining, silver teeth.

One of the cops shoots a hard, gold bullet and I collapse to the floor.
"Oh, you've done it now." The joker says.
"We're gonna need back-up!!" A cop shouts down his speaker.

The joker pulls out two machine guns from behind his back and starts shooting. Bullets are flying everywhere with people screaming and shouting. I hear a loud helicopter from outside and there is a sudden blinding flash followed by a muffled roar. An explosion. I've got to get out of here. I sneak out the back without anyone noticing.

I haven't slept at all. I look at my clock and the time is exactly 5am. I get up and grab my jacket and rush out the door to drive to the asylum. I need to know if The Joker is okay. I need to go back for him.
At the asylum I look everywhere but he is nowhere to be found. I turn around and a shadow ends up knocking me with a bat. Everything goes dark.

I wake up with my arms and legs strapped to a table with a bright light shining onto me. Squinting, I look around to find The Joker sitting next to me.
"I see you're awake."
He stands up and pushes the light away from my face.
"What you gonna do, you gonna kill me Mr J?"
"Oh I'm not gonna kill ya.. I'm just going to hurt you really, really bad" he replies.
"Oh yeah? Well I can take it."
"Open up, doll" he says as he puts a rope in my mouth and hovers the electrodes over my head.
I close my eyes and I feel the electricity go straight through my brain. Dribble poured from the corners of my lips and a single tear falls down my cheek.
Goodbye sanity, hello madness my old friend.
