It's dark.

Darker than normal. I can see what's happening around me, but there's a dark film around it all. A one-way mirror, and I can't be seen, pounding the glass, kicking for control. My pulse is rushing and I'm sweating but not the body.

The body is grinning at the world, waiting for someone to reach it. A white van pulls up around the corner, and a few men in coats slide easily out of the cushioned seats with rope. They're wearing University lab coats, and an instant sense of betrayal runs through me.

But I know now what Priority Alpha is. It's far from benefiting my health. It's priority is now Alpha, the top dog, the big man on campus. Director Wolfe is inspecting the stone still statue that once was me with a pleased expression.

"I'm sure you're there, and I'm sure you've put it together by now. This body is not only the greatest in medical need, but also for martial technology. It - you - are the next super-soldier, and you're never gaining control of your body again."
