Happy Flowers walked contentedly though the meadow. This was one of her favorite places. The birds sang in the trees, the butterflies play, and the cute woodland creatures scampered along. In the background her chickens searched for little morsels and her sheep grazed peacefully. She picked some choice wildflowers from among the green grass as she thought happy thoughts. She was one of the happiest ponies she knew, and her friends always talked about her joy. She began to sing in her rich alto voice, "Oh Danny Boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling. From glen to glen, and down the mountain side...". This song always calmed her animal friends.
Suddenly she heard a voice, "Hey Happy Flowers! How are you doing?". It was Kind Heart, one of her closest friends. Kind Heart was a tall, handsome stallion, his coat was a rich green, like a spring meadow, and he had golden mane. He was also one of the sweetest ponies she knew. They had been friends since childhood, and had a bit of a crush on each other. They were the closest of friends, but thought they weren't quite ready for romance. The love they felt was pure and sweet, like a spring creek. They just wanted to wait in till they were a little older.
Her heart fluttered as he came up to give her a hug. He wrapped his strong arm around her and her breath left her for a moment. "How's my sweet flower doing today?", Kind Heart asked as he released her. Happy Flowers blushed and hid a smile behind her long pink and yellow hair. "I'm doing well, thank you Kind Heart.", she said sweetly, "How are you?" . "I'm just fine. Betsy's doing better.", he said happily. Happy Flowers thought back to yesterday. Betsy, Kind Hearts favorite milk cow, had hurt herself on some thorns. She was glad to hear she was doing better, but was a little sad she had forgotten to ask about Betsy. "I'm so glad!", Happy Flowers exclaimed.
