Chåptęr 1

I opened my eyes to see my dark blue duvet around me. "James Aurelian get up , Serenity is waiting for you!" My mom yelled. I groggily got up and looked in the mirror, and saw my tall figure, with really light brown hair, and bright green/blue eyes. When I finally got dressed I went down downstairs and saw my mom, my little sister Giselle, and my best friend Serenity. The first one to notice me was Serenity "Hey Aurey." She said.
"Hey Sen." I replied with a goofy smile.
"Hey what about me!?" Giselle said distraught. "Hi little munchkin." I said while ruffling her hair "I'm not little anymore. I'm 11 now and already grew two more inches." She huffed.
  "Well I'm 5 years older than you and by my point of view you look like a munchkin." I argued.
Before Giselle can say anything back my mom says,"Good morning James."
"Mom how many times do I have to tell you to call me Aurelian not James." I groaned. "I gave birth to you I get to choose what to call you!" She exclaimed half jokingly. "Well Sen and I have to go to school. So I'll see you later." I announced while giving Giselle and my mom a kiss. "Bye Mrs. Sugg!" Serenity says.

      While we were walking to Illvermore High School we saw a group of 3 boys come towards us. I then heard  a whisper, "James, those are the guys that won't leave me alone." I immediately got worried since Serenity never said my first name unless she was scared, worried, or angry. "Hold my hand." I whispered back. She quickly took hold of my hand. "Hey beautiful." Said the guy in the middle. "Leave me alone Max!" Exclaimed Sen. "Nope not until you are mine." He said while smirking. "I'm her boyfriend." I blurted out. They all looked shocked with their mouths wide open. Once Max recovered he said, "Well you better watch out James, "-he started poking my chest. "because Serenity will be mine!" and left. Serenity and I kept walking and then I remembered our hands were still linked together. I liked having our hands together, I thought. She noticed me looking and pulled her hand away while blushing. Then finally Sen broke the silence. "Aurey, why did you say you were my boyfriend?"
  "It was the first thing that popped into my head... I'm sorry Sen I was trying to protect you."
   "It's fine, but what if they find out we aren't actually dating."
"I guess we will have to pretend." After I said that sentence we arrived at the front gates, and went to our first class. Max wouldn't stop looking at Sen and each time I got knots in my stomach, which I couldn't describe. Jealousy? No that can't be I'm just feeling overprotective since Serenity has been my best friend since kindergarten. But, could it really be jealousy. And why man I feeling this now??
