Chapter 2: The Person She Bumped Into

MARINETTE'S POV

"Are you ok Marinette?" I looked up to see Nathaniel's face. His books are all over the ground. I must have bumped into the books he was holding.

"I am so sorry! Let me pick up your books," I told him. Both of us bent down and went for the same book accidentally touching hands. "S-sorry!" I apologized.

"I-It's o-ok," Nathaniel said. His face is really red. Is he sick??

"Hey, but are you ok?" I put a hand over his forehead to make sure he was alright. "I think you're alright, but just in case, you should take some medicine. And again, I'm really sorry for bumping into you."

"Um thank you---I-I can get the books myself."

"The least I can do is help you carry the books to class," I smiled at him.

"Tha-thank you."

"We should hurry! We only have one minute before the bell rings!!" I grabbed Nathaniel's free hand and we both ran.

NATHANIEL'S POV

Today is my lucky day so far! My crush bumped into me, and now, I am running hand in hand with her to class.

<30 seconds till the bell rings>

ADRIEN'S POV

I wonder why Marinette isn't here yet... I hope I didn't keep her up too late... could she have gotten sick because of me? I can't help thinking these thoughts... Ugh!! Marinette and Nathaniel ran into the class hand in hand but had to separate hands going to their seats. Oh, thank goodness Marinette is okay. Wait...Marinette and Nathaniel... holding hands?! What is this feeling... I have never felt this way before...my heart is beating faster than usual, and I can feel myself burning up.

"Girl, what was that all about? I thought you were into... Well, you know who" I heard Alya say. I know it's bad to eavesdrop but I can't help it at the moment.

"What do you mean Alya? Nathaniel and I ran in because I bumped into him and we were almost late" Marinette whispered back to her brunette friend.

"Girl, you were holding hands, and it definitely looked like you guys did something that made you guys late," Alya said. Ugh, I have that horrible feeling again.

"Oh, of course not, Alya! It's not what you think. Let's just talk about this after class." Marinette responded.

<Time skip to the end of class>

MARINETTE'S POV

"So, Mari, what was that all about. Tell me word for word." Alya said. Ugh, is she ever going to let this go?

"But I already explained it to you in class. Ok, let's just start from the beginning..." I explained the whole event that I just went through in the morning/\.

"Oh, sorry girl. I just assumed that you got a thing for Nathaniel. Still, I have to admit you guys did look good together," Alya responded. It made me blush a bit. Nathaniel and me huh... I never thought of that. So silly especially since I like Adrien.

"Hey, Marinette... Is your head ok... You bumped really hard on my books, so I wanted to check how you were..." I turned around to face Nathaniel.

"I'm okay," I told him. All of a sudden Nathaniel turned really red.

"To- to make it up t-to you, why don't I-I take you out to eat after school... M-my treat." Aww, Nathaniel is so sweet! Wait did I just think that. My face feels a bit heated up for thinking that.

"Y-yeah I would love to... T-Thank you. I mean you don't really have to."

"Marinette... " Nathaniel said in a serious tone.

"Umm yes...," I replied shyly.

"The r-r-reason I want to take you out i-is because I-I li---" all of a sudden there was a loud noise hinting an attack. Why is there an Akuma attack this early in the morning?

"You have to run! We will meet up later!" I yelled to Nathaniel as I ran away to transform somewhere. "Spots on!!"

"I am the amazing writer! Anything I write will be liked, and it will happen!" an akumatized person dressed in a suit filled with many words on it exclaimed. I wonder what got this writer so mad? "You will give me your miraculous!" The guy started writing until Chat Noir hit his pencil away.

"Too much Chatting not fast enough writing," Chat Noir remarked as he came in.

"Now is not the time Chat Noir. We have to get his pencil now!"

<Time skip to the end of the battle.>

"Pound it!" We both said.

"I'll be taking my leave, my Lady" Chat Noir rushed and left me surprised. I wonder what was his rush. Usually, he tries to stop me from leaving... Beep Beep. Oh, I better go find a place to detransform.

ADRIEN'S POV

I hope Marinette is okay. I need to go look for her. Why was Nathaniel talking to her? What were they talking about? Ugh, I just need to know!! Maybe I can ask Alya... Hopefully, she doesn't get suspicious of me asking or anything... Maybe I should just ask Nino to ask her for me and to let me know. Yeah, that plan works better.
