Hello...  It has been long time didnt write here. I was busy with some odds reasons here 😂😂 Well, being busy with some odd stuffs just made me missing my blog. Oh, I even forget my last post here. All I remembered was my hurt-post about him hahaha.

*Let's forget that pain. It was a broken heart talking though *plak

Today I would like to share my frustration being a language learner. Learning new language is not that easy. Language is not only about grammar and linguistic matter but it relates to the culture. The first thing when I heard about learn language, I will think about the culture. How do I think? Because I'm studying English education as well. Means that I'm dealing with the linguistics and education. Okay, but I'm not going to elaborate more. hahaha

Anyway..

Since I watched a video on YouTube, I've learnt something new. I found a youtube channel, it is Langfocus and the video maker's name is Paul. This is highly recommended for those who learn new language just like me. The channel concerns on languages historical, tips and tricks about learn language and languages facts. I personally like whole his videos because the way he delivers languages content was very briefly and easy to understand. One the video that I like the most was about how to speak in different languages while we are learning some languages in the same time (I forgot the video title btw). It helps me a lot. Watching this video was blowing up my mind.

I've been learning Turkish for a year and a half. I started to learn Turkish on online, like watching some videos on youtube, joined Turkish class online, and joined Turkish course. But unfortunately my Turkish is never been in better progress. If you ask me why, I have lots of reasons. However, the main reason is.. Because I less of practice. Actually I have some Turkish friends who can help me in terms of practice. I no need to ask them because they attract me to talk in Turkish. But again, I prefer to talk in English rather than in Turkish.

In some cases, I can understand what they are talking. When I had conversation with my Turkish friends for instance, I knew what they were talking about but the problem is I couldnt respond them immediately. I was thinking too much and get tongue tied then I will respond in English 😂 So, this is really irritate me. You know how much I'm in love in Turkey. And how much I want to speak in Turkish. Moreover, being a Turkish learner for year and a half without a better progress really frustrating.

Back to the video that I watched..

One of the videos on Langfocus channel was taught me that the first thing we need to do when we started to learn new language is "pronunciation". Pronunciation is important because it deals with how we can communicate in better way. Imitate every single sounds, phonemes, phonetics, and so on. That was really blowing up my mind. During the time learning Turkish, I've never put pronunciation as the first thing that I should to do. Because I thought that grammar was more important rather than pronunciation. So, I was too busy learn about grammar and forgetting how important pronunciation is. I can read and spell Turkish words and now I realize be able to spell and read it doesn't guarantee the Pronunciation as well. Therefore, it makes me slowly toward responding because I was too much busy with grammar without practice.

That's all about how frustrated I am so far and how useful Langfocus channel for me. Actually there still lots of things that I want to share here but I'll keep it for the next post. So, whatever languages you learn right now, keep going, keep practicing. Because there's no magic in language, we need to keep study and practice in order to get the betterment progress.
