"They're to the left." Aurelie reasoned.

Immediately she was met with hush sounds from her brothers. The girl rolled her eyes, and stretched her neck longer.

They were trying to see out the door, down the pavement. Aurelie had guessed that maybe they took another way, but they weren't coming down that way either. But they had ruled not to leave.

Actually, to be exact, their parent's words where "Not one step out of this door!" Hence, they were pressing their faces against what was left of the ratty screen door in till there were marks left on their skin.

"They should have been back by now."

"Yeah, a minute ago. Maybe they stopped for a moment or took a second longer." Aurelie's older brother, Brutus, said as he narrowed his eyes on the other side of the open door.

"Or-or,"

The youngest of the three, Alexander, named after the young yet mature and brave conquer, jumped back and forth from standing behind the two by a foot or two and pressing his face to the screen door

"They were attacked." He froze. "Or! Found people and are talking to them, and they'll like lead us to-to somewhere or give us food or weapons."

He was named incorrectly.

Aurelie turned to her little brother, who had latched on to her in attempt to hide behind her, while leaning his head around her to get a look.

"Alex, be quiet. They're just a little late, or we are wrong about the time. Remember what-"

"They're here."

You couldn't hear it in Brutus's voice, but he was terrified. Course, he didn't stay there very long for Aurelie to confirm it.

He ran down the hallway, making almost no sound but a scuttle here and there. Aurelie didn't bother questioning it as she quickly swung the door shut, making sure to stop an inch before, and shutting it quietly.

Her brother was still holding on to her leg but she ran down the hallway, feeling him stumble. Aurelia ran towards her older brother.

They were sitting down perfectly and politely when their parents came in.

"What did we say about opening the door?" Their mother said first, her voice the sharp whisper as it always is.

Their father raised his eyebrows at them but neither did much, the three children-though they'd argue that they were far past grown up-Slumped and dropped their shoulders.

"Did you get food?" Brutus asked.
