Hermione Granger was frozen. She felt as if she was being petrified all over again. The hall had fallen silent. The silence was appropriate. It was stunned. And for once she was speechless. All eyes were attracted to her as if she were a magnet. Well on her or Draco Malfoy.
She could still feel the pressure of his lips on hers. Her breath was still caught in her throat. She looked up at his tall frame from her spot at the Gryffindor table. She was sure her eyes were popping out her head and she was gaping like a fish. Her face was as if someone had rubbed strawberries on it! Harry was looking back and forth between the two astonished. Ron was gaping and he was mid bite into spoonful of soup. Ginny was silently smiling behind her hand.
Hermione didn't dare look anywhere else. Her only thoughts were: Why the hell would Malfoy kiss me? And infront of the whole Great Hall?
Even the bloody Professors were staring at them.
Finally after a few more moments Malfoy looked straight at her nodded once and walked out of the Hall. His steps echoing on the stone floor. Hermione tentatively touched her lips. She glanced around and bit her lip staring at her goblet determinedly. Harry stood up and looked around. "Alright then! Back to your food. What are you lot gaping at?! Nothing to see." He called out glancing around. Every table slowly turned around and a light hush was amongst them. Except the Slytherin Table.
"Oh put a sock in it Potter!" Blaise Zabini yelled. "You know good and well what we're bloody gaping at!"
"Yea?" Her redheaded friend, Ginny stood beside Harry. "We know what you're staring at! Get over it! It was just a bloody small kiss!"
Pansy Parkinson snorted. Which was appropriate considering her pug face. "A kiss with Malfoy and Granger!!!" She exclaimed. Her house nodded and made noises of agreement.
Next an eruption of arguments of defence broke out between the two. Hermione looked around and stood up. She exited the Hall unnoticed. She was breathing hastily and the phrase 'A kiss between Malfoy and Granger!' stood out like a spot light that glowed all over her. But what nobody else saw was that for a fraction of a second: She kissed him back.
