As I walked down the jeweled hallway I stopped to admire the diamond encrusted mirror. My reflection changed before my eyes. My once pale flushed skin became silver and glistening like gems. My once red blushing cheeks cold, empty, hard. With an inflection of fearlessness. My straight , brown, dull hair became blood red cascading like a waterfall past my waist.

Something caught my attention as I stared in awe, something silver ,I looked in wonderment. On my left shoulder and down my arm a beautiful silver swirling design dancing down my arm. As if it had been there always, it almost looked natural. It looked as if it were conveying something. As if it were symbolizing me as something.

My beautiful red gown matched my hair with no difference. It flowed beautifully down the arms without a flaw flaring out past my waist with great volume. I looked ready for a great celebration. The silver shoes I ware are a perfect match to my arm. I also notice I posses a saber attached to a thin leather band. I lift it out of it's sheath seeing that it is, in fact, very sharp.

I turn away from the mirror amazed by my new appearance.  As I resheath my sword I see a tall, black breeched, red lapelled, and silver skinned man with stormy dark green eyes. I ask him, "Where am I?"

He then says with care," You are in Icebridge, a part of the Sanguine Sentinels. Your name is Sophia Nyro. Follow me." He leads me down different hallways full of paintings, full of jewels, full of life. I then enter a glittering, cloud blue, room. He turns abruptly and says," This is called the Initiation Room. This is where we train." The Initiation Room is coated with ice and the ground is covered in snow. There are others there training. "They are getting ready for a great battle," he says.

"With whom?" I ask shyly.

"Fireviaduct." He answers curtly. "They are also Sanguine Sentinels" He says pointing to the others who are training.

"You are to begin training today," says a tall frightening looking man. "Follow me, Sophia." What am I going to be doing? It seems strange they didn't have me change before I start training. "Everyone in Icebridge possesses an element. This is what we are testing." He says roughly. I never knew I had a power. I wonder what it is?

They have what I'm told is a Reader someone who reads powers. He looks at me carefully turning his head in different directions. Then, at last, he says tentatively," You can manipulate water and plants." He turns starting to walk away. He turns with a start and says completely taken aback by his own thoughts." You...you can...you're a wolf."

The man who met me in the hallway says quickly," Come with me we need to see what this means. I would ask Rich," he motions to the Reader chuckling."But I think he may need a minute." He turns walk away then motions for me to follow. As I walk away I turn guiltily back to Rich than turn away to make sure I don't get lost.

The man turns around and suddenly says," Sorry I didn't introduce myself earlier ,Sophia, my names Maven." I reach my hand out to meet his and try to smile, it's hard to get Rich's expression off my mind. "We're going have you complete a training course with different elements. This should tell us what he meant when he said you were a wolf." He says smiling from ear to ear. Maven takes me to a room and coughs slightly then says," You should probably change into something a little more appropriate for training." I nod knowing he's right. I was not prepared to run in a ballgown. When I enter the room, I change into a pair of black athletic leggings and a red tank top that matches my hair. I put my hair in a messy bun and walked out of the room.  " That'll work," he says."When you hear the beep noise you should probably start running." He says the last bit quietly with a wink. I have a feeling he wasn't supposed to have given me any pointers.

I enter the room and once I hear the beep noise I start running. I don't know exactly what I'm running from or to. I just run.Pieces of the wall start flying  out towards me in great accuracy trying to knock me down. I barely slide under one piece of the wall. I keep running gasping for air. Then, all of a sudden the wall goes back to it's original form. Maven then enters the room with three other men each of them holds a steel cylinder. They smile at me as they place the cylinder on a table in front of me and lift it up to reveal four different things. Maven stood behind a glass of water. The other three stood behind a small plant, a pile of ashes, and a book. " Try to make the water move Sophia." Maven asked kindly.

"How?" I asked honestly. I don't think that I can actually manipulate water. Even though Rich said I could manipulate waterand plants. I think it's just a fluke.

"Focus on what you want the water to do, picture it in your mind." He says as if he knows I'm doubting myself. I nod deciding I might as well try. What have I got to lose? Oh! Do not answer that brain. It was a rhetorical question, a rhetorical question. I can totally do  this ...maybe...possibly...probably not. I look at the water than close my eyes imagining it raising out of the glass forming a smiley face. I open my eyes and see the happy face staring back at me. I laugh as I see it wink at me.

" Good Sophia, now try making that flower bloom." Maven says almost as happy as I am for making the water move. I look at the flower then imagine it blooming into a full white rose. It does just that! I can't believe I actually did that. " That was awesome! Now try starting a fire. According to Rich you shouldn't be able to do it, so don't be upset if you can't, but he could be wrong." Maven says shrugging at the end.

I look at the ashes carefully imaging a small pillar of fire. I watch in awe as the flame slowly grows.  I have trouble keeping it in together so I decide to drop it back into a pile of ashes. I can't do it so the man behind me helps me put it back into it's original form. "Good."he says bluntly.

"What's the book for?" I ask not sure what a book would have anything to do with this test.

"It's to see if you have any unique powers." The man behind it states. "Read it."

I open the book not bothering to look for a title. It has symbols in it that look foreign. I try to decipher them. The first one has two swirls that are attached at the end I point to it and say, "Wind."The next one has two human shaped figures that have a line connecting them."Mind reading?"I say cautiously. The last one looks mysteriously like a sword I say,"Warrior."

"Correct."

Is all I hear as they turn and leave the room. What does that mean? Is it good? Is it bad? I don't know all I know is that I need rest using my powers completely drained me. I head back to the room I changed in and find a bed there. It looked pretty empty, so I decided to sleep there for tonight, at least.

My name is Sophia and this is my story.
