Can you feel the wind coming?

            It’s rushing, it’s running.

Can you see what’s beneath your feet?

            No, I’m rushing, I’m running.

Don’t look behind you, whatever you do,

Don’t listen to the birds singing or the squirrels as they coo.

            Keep going girl, keep running.

Swish shish swish, goes the waves,

And thump thump thump, goes my feet on the pavement

Wish wish wish, goes the wind, silencing the urge, the craving

            Heading for some unknown place,

Hurrying, wanting to win the race.

            The trees fly by us

And the dirt is turning to mush.

The evil, it calls out to us

But we keep running, we just tell evil, “shush.”

All of us, wind, water and I

Look for the light, up in the sky

We are being watched, protected by the sun,

And so we, all of us, we run.
