The harsh glare of the bright lights in the infirmary pierced her eyes. Aurora blinked, followed with a long groan. What was she doing in the infirmary? Surely all was well for her. She didn't feel any pain. Cue the throbbing head ache. She pressed her hand against her head. "Ow." She said as she squeezed her eyes shut. Grunting as she propped herself on the bed she looked around. What she saw? Three dozing figures. Or more clearly, Noor with her head down as she slept on the chair beside her bed and Selene slept on a chair as well, except for the fact that her head lay on Noor's lap and her legs was dangling off the chair.. Aurora smiled. Selene had a thing for using nearby people as human cushions. On the other side of her bed, she saw James resting his head against the metal bar that ran along the sides of the bed. He was in what looked like a very painful position. She winced. 'That must be uncomfortable.' She thought to herself.
'Might as well get myself some water while I wait for them to wake up. It might help with my headache.' She eyed the pitcher of water meticulously, wondering if it wasn't actually water and if it was some clear potion. "Whatever, I'm thirsty." she mumbled as she remembered how parched her throat was.
As she held the pitcher, fumbling with the weight of the pitcher, she dropped it. Aurora grumbled a string of curses as Noor and Selene woke up with a start.
"My god." Noor said, clutching her heart as if it was her lifeline.
Selene on the other hand jumped wildly, 5 feet away from her original position.
Twiddling with her thumbs, Aurora spoke. "Sorry for that." She gazed down at her palms.
"Are you fine? That fall went south." Noor said as she got over her unexpected awakening.
"I'm ok. What do you mean I fell?" Aurora's curiosity was building up.
"Oh tiny me," Selene sighed. "You just had to fall off a broom 60 feet in the air in the air, didn't you?"
"I fell of a broom? Was this during the quidditch match?" Curiosity was eating away at her. "Did we lose? Man, if I put all that work in for nothing, I swear-" She started.
All of a sudden the memories came back. Snart. Thorn. Pushing James out of the way. The fall. The darkness that had engulfed her.
She gasped.
Fear was crawling up her throat, suffocating her. She didn't know what to do.
"Are you okay?" Selene and Noor simultaneously asked.
"I-I don't- you know what forget it." Aurora chuckled. She didn't want to trouble them with her problems. It was her life. She would handle it the way she thought was right and was best for her. Anyways, she was terrible at confessions.
"No. It's not. I know that look in your eye. We can help you. But only if you let us in." Noor pleaded, worry clear as day on her face. Selene nodded wordlessly.
"I don't want to trouble you with my problems. You don't have to worry about. It's nothing, really." Aurora looked the other way, not having the courage to look them in the eye.
"Please. You're already troubling me right now when you're not telling me what's wrong" Selene threw her hands up in the air in exasperation and frustration. "You fell. You almost died. You fell a long way down. A very long way down. Those Slytherin beaters," Selene didn't bother trying to hide her murderous tone. "They hurt you. You're lucky Hagrid was near the quidditch field and caught you. You shutting everyone out is not helping any of us. If not, it makes us worry about you even more. I've seen you shut everyone out before, Aurora. I'm not letting you do do that to me, to us. again. Ever. So you better tell us what's going on in that pretty head of yours or else I'll be annoying the living daylights out of you until you finally open up."
