"You want to do what?" My cousin Gwen asked me as she loaded the dishwasher.
"I want to go out tonight. What's the big deal don't look so surprised." I answered trying to hid my hidden agenda behind really wanting to go out tonight.
"Coming from your mouth those words are cause for concern." Gwen said still not looking all to convinced that we should venture out of are apartment.
"What do you mean? I love to dance." I said in my own defense.
"I know but you haven't really done anything wild since becoming a world renown writer." Gwen said and at this point had stopped filling the dishwasher to look me square in the eye.
"I know you know me but tonight's different Gwen. I want to get out tonight and act my age." I was lying through my teeth at this point but it was necessary.
"Your lying I can tell. Why do you really want to go out tonight." Gwen asked as she stared me down.
Ah I really didn't want to have to tell Gwen the real reason behind my wanting to go out tonight. At least not until I had her inside the cab heading to the club.
"Come on out with it Mana." Gwen reminded me.
"Fine! You remember how I've been having a hell of a time coming up with a new story idea for my next book." I asked.
Gwen nodded. "Well two days ago I managed to remember one of those legends Grandma would tell us. You know the one about the Dark magic Wizard King." I paused hoping Gwen would remember the legend as well.
"I remember the story sure but what dose that have to do with you wanting to go out on a Thursday night?" Gwen asked with her eyebrows raised in confusion.
"I'm getting to that. Do you remember how Grandma always said the Wizard King was so powerful he was immortal and seemed to always pop back up in history just under a different name." I was practically bursting trying to get out all the information I had found in the past two days.
"Kinda of, but Grandma was just telling us a story Mana. I highly doubt this Wizard King guy is really out there." Gwen was now looking at me like I was crazy.
"That's where your wrong. I didn't think Grandmas story was true either until I did some research, and she right this Wizard King dose continue to reappear throughout history except he doesn't change his name. When I found his current address it was still listed under his birth name.
Gwen didn't look like she believed me but she was willing to indulge me. "And what is his birth name?"
"And this is when I damn near fell of my chair Gwen." I was still stun by this piece of information.
"Out with it!" Gwen said losing patient with me.
"Rowan Sullivan's." I knew by the look on Gwen's face she knew the name.
"Your shitting me! How can the biggest playboy in New York City be a thousands year old Dark Magic Wizard King?" Gwen yelled.
"I have know clue but this legend has sparked my interest in something. You just don't understand how bad my publisher is on my ass asking for new material." I said using my puppy dog eye's.
"I get that Mana, but what dose this all have to do with you wanting to go out tonight?" Gwen asked trying to understand my plan.
"Well during my research I found out that Mr. Sullivan's owns a club on the upper west side." I answered smiling evilly.
"And let me guess this is the place you want to go tonight." Gwen asked shaking her head in disbelief.
"Yup, so are you going to get ready?" I asked continuing to smile.
