It only came out at night.
     He'd feel it coming, too.
It'd be late evening, the sun setting and the sky glowing gold with clouds resting over the horizon.
He'd shake. Oh God. Not now, please.
As soon as the sun sinks, it's there, about to rear it's ugly head into the bathroom. He named it, too.
     Dinah; Judged.
"Yael hunny, are you done? Dinner's almost ready!"
     "N-no!"
He could hear his mother huff. "Please hurry up, I don't want the food getting cold."
Avidan steadied himself, swallowing once to not sound distressed.
     "Okay!"
He started first with his shirt, taking it off slowly to reveal bandages wrapped tightly around his chest.
Dinah came through the window, a black cloud approaching fast that shot into his chest.
Avidan stumbled back, his left hand gripping the sink edge tightly.
     Do you even pass?
     "Of course I do..."
Dinah now manifested behind Avidan, ghostly black hands gripped solidly on his shoulders.
     Not without this you don't.

She ripped the bandages from his skin, now revealing his bare chest.
Now do you? Of course not.
A burning sensation pitted itself in the core of his stomach. His eyes squeezed shut as he refused to look at his naked chest, the bruised flesh at his sides or his aching ribs.
     "S-stop."
     Or what?
A gentle plop hit the sink. A tear.
     "I'll... I'll..."
Exactly. You're powerless, you can't do anything.
Dinah examined Avidan's chest intensely, candy red eyes pressing uncomfortably into his skin.
     What's this?
She ran gentle talons over sensitive flesh ripe with mild burn marks.
Scars? You're not even happy with a binder so you result to mutilation?
     Silent sobs wracked his body.
Why are you crying? You did this to yourself.
     "I-I did wha-what I had t-to..."
Wasn't a binder enough, Yael? Couldn't you be happy in the body you were given?
"D-don't call me t-that. It-it's not my name."
Why yes it is, it's the name on your birth certificate. And how could it not, you still act like a girl?
     "I-I'm not a g-girl."
Why must you argue? I've never met a boy before who enjoys dresses, I never met one who wears nail polish, I've never met one who shows vulnerability.
Avidan collapsed, back arched and weeping bitterly into shaking hands.
Now do you get it? You're not a real boy. You'll never be one, either.
After minutes of uncontrollable wailing, he stood up.
     "I guess you're right."
Dinah smiled a foul smirk. Have I ever been wrong?
Avidan wobbled to the sink, reaching down and pulling out a thin razor blade from the sink cabinet.
     Ending it, really? So soon?
He situated himself in the bath tub, letting his head rest against the fiberglass wall.
     "You left me no choice."
Quite a tragic tale, isn't it? To die at such a young age.
     "You brought me to this."
     Have I now?
No answer, just a deep red line down his right arm, trickling freely with such sweet blood.
May you be born in the right body next time, Yael.
Dinah floated back into Avidan's chest, warm liquid filling the tub and the body growing colder by the minute.

To die at such a young age.
Quite a tragic tale, isn't it?
