The War Begins

Rias POV -
It had been a week since the group formed and we made plans. So far it was sorta like 50/50. We've been able to stop Aogiri from most things, but there were some attacks we couldn't stop or we needed to retreat from, yet the CCG ended up handling it. These past few days have made me really question who I really was and why I was still living strangely enough. I couldn't tell if I was the regal and elegant woman I was to Issei or if I had become some emo and antisocial monster. I knew that Riser was trying to keep my sanity with that counting thing, but I'm clearly psychotic. "Rias? You okay back there?" Kaneki said, waking me back up to reality. "Y-Yeah. Sorry about that." I replied. He simply gave me a small smile and signaled for me to walk by him. I caught up to him and he grabbed my hand. I blushed madly at this action and almost lost my composure. "Listen to me. If anything were to happen to me, I want you to know...don't wait for me, ok? In this world you can never know what will happen. For all we know I might disappear forever or even change into a Kakuja completely. So if the time ever comes where I can't be saved, don't try to be my hero; stay the beautiful princess you are." He said looking at me with grim eyes. I tightened my grip on his hand and started to shake in anger. I pulled him close and gave him a quick, yet powerful slap. "Don't give me that shit! No way in hell I'd let anything happen to you or anyone else! I'm not gonna let anything happen to my loved ones again! Besides, you have me, Tsukiyama, Yomo, Uta, and Nishiki...how could you possibly imagine dying alone? There's no chance in hell we would just abandon you like that." I started to cry hard. I couldn't handle the thought of Kaneki dying or even turning into one of those monsters again. Tsukiyama walked up behind me. "She's right Kaneki. We need you just as much as you need us. We will protect you at all costs." He added. Kaneki simply sighed and turned around. "We're going to see Yoshimua. I need to ask him stuff about Aogiri and the Owl."

About half an hour passed and we entered this coffee shop. The place had been clearly taken care of, I couldn't find a single scratch or dent anywhere. Kaneki walked upstairs with some senior and the rest of us sat down and had coffee. Me and Nishiki talked about special people in our life. Even though he was cold and stern, he was actually a softie. His girlfriend is lucky to have met such a man. Nishiki eventually left to go on a walk. I was about to check up on Yomo, but I was interrupted when a small girl tugged on my shirt. "Um big lady? You know big brother?" She asked me. I smiled and sat back down. "Big brother?" I asked her with a hint of confusion. "Yea! Kaneki!" She replied. I smiled at her response. "Yes I know Kaneki. Why do you ask?" She started to blush. "Because I really missed him...and he hasn't been helping me with my reading!!" She replied embarrassed. I giggled at her reaction to my simple question. "What do you mean reading?" I asked. "Me and big bro would read a book and when I was confused on a word he would define it for me!" She smiled brightly. She reminded me a lot of Asia. So cute and innocent. "Why don't I try and help? I like reading too." I gave her a reassuring smile. She smiled back and jumped in the air. "Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!"

Issei POV -
I was breathing heavily and losing strength fast. I knew Loki was strong, but I didn't think he'd be this strong. I charged at him again preparing to punch him. "LOKI!!" I screamed as my fist went into his face. He brushed off his cheek and retaliated with a kick. "HOW DARE YOU SCUM!? I WILL END YOU!!" He elbowed my neck sending me flying into the ground. I got back up and started to charge up energy. "Dragon..." I made a sphere of enegery and blasted towards him. "SHOT!" The energy blast forced him to try and push it back, but it was too much for him to handle. He moved to his left, letting the blast fly in the air. I vanished and reappeared behind him. "What!?" He said while blocked my kick. "How can this be!? You're a mere child! How could you have possibly gained this strength!?" He asked me. "You may be a god Loki, but you aren't all knowing. You're forgetting something. In order to gain you must make sacrifices. I had to give it my everything during training and even give up my mental health to gain this power. You just accepted what was given to you at birth and didn't make a move! You lack discipline!" I screamed at him. "Oh please you're one to talk! You didn't give a damn about power till that bitch disappeared!" Loki yelled before getting my fist through his chest. He coughed up blood and started to fly away. "Don't you dare talk about Rias like you know her. I'll send you twelve feet underground." I said while glaring at him. He tried to blast me, but I swatted it away like a bug. "Damn you!" He started to float down in pain. I prepared another Dragon Shot. "Give up Loki! You've got nowhere to go!" I demanded. "Curse you...Curse you and your damned household! I place a curse on-", Before Loki could finish I blasted him into dust. "Yeah right. I don't have time for that." I landed on the ground and released the balance breaker. Saji walked up to me. "Dude way to go! You easily took him down!" He said while patting my back. "Yeah yeah..." I brushed him off. "We're gonna head home ok Sona?" I said. "Alright. So shall we." She replied.

Once we made it home, I put on some nice clothes and walked over to CCG's headquarters. I walked in and looked around. "Where is she?" I asked annoyed. I felt someone bump me from behind. "Oh I'm sorry sir!" He apologized. I turned around to see the orange haired boy. "Oh it's nothing. Say, do you know where I can find Mrs. Mado?" I asked him. He smiled. "Yes I do, just follow me." He said while walking in front of me. As we walked around here I began to grow curious and started to ask him questions. "Um...if you don't mind. Can I ask you something?" He nodded. "Well um. What are you doing here at CCG?" I asked. "Oh me? I just deliver packages and do a little research here. Nothing much." He replied. "Is there any particular topic you research?" I asked. He looked down but gave me an honest answer. "Yeah. My best friend turned into a ghoul and went missing and still is. I'm trying to find him as we speak." I covered my mouth. He's just like me. "Is there anything I can do?" He turned and smiled. "Just pray for the best." As the elevator stopped he began to walk off. "Wait! What's your name?" I said grabbing his attention. "Hideyoshi Nagachika." He replied with a smile and got off. I got on the floor above him and made a left to the first door. I entered the room and saw Mrs. Mado doing paperwork. "Good Afternoon." I greeted while sweating. She looked up and smiled. "Good Afternoon. I take it you are Issei?" She asked me. I nodded and sat down. "So what did you want to talk about?" I clenched my fist. "Well, I was wondering if I could join you guys so I could search for someone important to me...I know it's probably not allowed since I haven't passed any tests or training, but I'm willing to go through that! I'll do anything I need to in order to find her! Is there any way I can be considered." She put her fingers on her chin and started to think. "Well maybe. You look pretty much solider material already. I'm not sure if you'd be top rank though. I'll have to ask-" she stopped and bowed as the door opened behind me. "No need Akria. I'm just checking on you." I heard a male voice. She stood back up. "Sir, this man wants to join us! Will you consider!?" She said nervous. I turned and saw the man before me. He had white hair, glasses, and a grim, yet calm look. "Yes, I might. Young man. I will need a report on yourself before we continue." He said to me. I nodded fearfully. "Be here at 8:00 tonight understood?"

Rias POV -
After a few hours, we all re grouped and left the shop. It was nighttime already. Time really does fly when you don't pay attention. Me and Kaneki looked around confused as everyone was walking the opposite direction. "What is with everyone?" Yomo asked. I turned and looked at Kaneki. He had on a face that I would never forget, the face of true terror. I looked at the screen with him and saw the headline, 'CCG plan's to attack Yoshimura, the Owl at Anteiku begin tonight at 8:00 pm. Please evacuate now. CCG members will be there to guide you'. I was just as shocked as him. That's where I met that girl. I looked at him and grabbed his shoulders. "Kaneki!! Kaneki!! What do we do!?" I asked him. He began to run toward the coffee shop. I followed suit as did the group.

A few minutes later we were sitting on the roof of a building staring down at the destruction. "So Kaneki? What do you plan on doing?" Nishiki asked. Without looking away, Kaneki replied. "I'm going down there. I won't stand by as my comrades fall when I can do something. Yomo, please find as many ghouls as you can and get them out of here! Uta, grab all the masks you can as well as other ghouls and get out of here! Nishiki, settle whatever personal matters you have!" Kaneki demanded. The three of the vanished in an instant. "What about me Kaneki? Are you just gonna tell me to run while I watch you get killed!?" Tsukiyama asked. Kaneki turned to him. "Tskuyiama please, don't try and stop me." Tsukiyama started to cry. "Kaneki...KANEKI!!" He charged at Kaneki going into a frenzy. "DO YOU REALLY THINK ILL LET THE DISH IVE BEEN SAVING FOR YEARS GO TO WASTE!? YOURE MINE TO EAT KANEKI!!" He screamed while trying to attack Kaneki. He eventually passed out and fell to the ground. Kaneki finally turned to me. "Rias....run away as far as you can. This isn't your problem." He said. "I won't do that Kaneki!" I screamed while crying. "I won't leave you like everyone else! I'm always going to be by your side!" I yelled. He pulled me into a tight embrace. "Rias please. I've lost Touka and Hide, I won't lose you. I promise I'll be back ok?" He said looking at me. Once he let go he put on his mask and jumped to the ground. I fell to the floor and began to cry. How could I let him leave like that!? "There you are!" I turned and saw Vali. "You dumb bitch! You're mine!" He started to walk towards me. "Vali...back away right now!" I screamed. "Get over here n-" He screamed before I cut off his arm with my Kakuja. "This war..."

Arima POV -
I looked around and almost shed a tear. I saw all my comrades bleeding out or missing limbs and ghouls who had been stabbed or mutilated. How could we humans and ghouls cause so much chaos? This is not justice, nor Liberty from ghouls. This is pure inhuman genocide at its darkest. I won't allow myself to cry as the cold grim reaper, but I won't forget about my friends as they sacrifice themselves for what they believe in. Nothing will stand in my way. I will prevail through this war to tell this story. "This war...is just beginning..."
