Chapter 5- "Stop, Derek!"
The grungy, old sofa slumped as I gently sat down on it. My muscles were stiff, and I was completely tense. I stared at the powered white spread across the brown, wooden table and twiddled my thumbs. The girl, whose black hair was extremely greasy, had already started back to her line. The guy on the other hand was still staring at me or should I say glaring.
"So.." I trailed, "What is your name?" My voice was timid as the question flew out of my mouth and I slightly rocked back-n-forth.
"It does not matter, Barbie." He growled as the girl glanced over at us. She sent me a smirk before she narrowed her eyes at the guy.
"We will tell you our names if you sniff a line." She coaxed as she used her eyes to communicate to the guy.
"I was already gonna sniff." I muttered leaning down towards a table. I shut my eyes tightly as I inhaled the powder. I released a slight cough lifting my head up from the table.
"It's Beth." She said offering me her pale hand.
"Roxanne." I replied back with a slight smile as I took her hand. Once she released my hand I shifted myself to face the male who had been burning holes in the back of my head. I mustered up the best glare I could and arched one of my brows to him in a questioning manner. I held my stare as he did the same for a minute then his green eyes started to wonder around. I watched closely as they trailed down my body, down to my legs, and back up to stop at my lips for a moment. His emerald orbs narrowed at me as they shot up quickly to meet mine once more.
"What the hell are you staring at, Barbie?!" He firmly challenged as he ran a hand through golden hair.
"I could ask you the same thing," I paused before a smirk had crossed my features. "Ken." I added as it rolled off my tongue smoothly. Beth busted out into fits of laughter as a scowl came across the boy's face.
"She's right, KENdal." Beth mocked as the guy grunted. My brows rose up as I realized his name.
"Y-your name is actually Kendal?" I spluttered as I giggled escaped my lips. Poor thing.
"No!" He hissed as he raised a hand up in a threating manner. "My name is Alec!" His hand returned to his side as an inaudible sigh was released from my mouth. I'm not going to lie, I flinched. I'd like to believe he didn't slap me because he saw how scared I was, but it was obvious this guy didn't like me.
"I-I should probably get back to the party." I stammered giving a slight smile to both Beth and Alec as I stood up.
"See you around, kid." Beth replied waving me off and nudging the guy in his side. He let out a grunt and I rolled my eyes.
"Bye Beth," I said politely then smirked at Alec, "Bye Ken!" I yelled and made a dash out of the room as he murmured curses under his breathe.
-_-_-_-_-_-
After my chat with my new 'friends', I had returned to the loud party that had multiplied since I sniffed a line. Most of the people were drinking,
and grinding up against each other, while others made out in a corner. My eyes stopped on Jacob who was making out with the sultry Lacey. His hands ran up and down her thigh, raising her dress as he did so. Why does he like her so much?
'Her looks you idiot!' My brain told me.
'He doesn't like any other girls that look like that!" I augured back.
'She's confident. She knows what she wants and she knows how she's gonna get it." The smart brain in my had told me.
'I can be confident and be like her!" I shot back.
