Chapter 8

Emily's P.O.V

I went back to Marcel's with Jack and The Doctor. When I walked through the door I was tackled in a hug. I laughed and tried to pull away but whoever was hugging me wouldn't let me go. I rubbed and patted their back. The hug got tighter and I could breath at this point.

"Jack...Doctor...Help?" I asked them and they laughed.

"Elijah, if you hug her any tighter, I think you might break her?" Jack asked him and I felt him looked up at Jack. His slowly let me go, but kept me at arm's length.

"Are you ok? Are you hurt?" Elijah asked and I shook my head.

"I'm fine really, but we have bigger problems now." I said and Elijah looked at me confused.

"What do you mean?" Elijah asked me and I was about to answer but The Doctor did instead.

"It means every one of my enemies that are her enemies are going to be coming after her." The Doctor said and I looked up at Elijah.

"Then we'll fight." Elijah said and I shook my head.

"No, the enemies I have are worse than your and they can kill you without even trying." I said and Klaus came around the corner.

"What's this I hear about fighting?" Klaus asked and I looked at him. I looked at Elijah who was staring at me and shook my head.

"Nothing, Klaus, it was a stupid idea." I said and got out of Elijah grib then walked over to the living room. Klaus guided me in with his hand on my lower back.

"You going to tell me the truth later. Time will make you." Klaus whispered into my ear and I shook his hand off of me. I looked him dead in the eye.

"We'll see because I keep secrets to keep the ones I love safe." I said and Klaus was about to respond but he was cut off by a little girl's voice.

"Momma!" The voice yelled and I saw Aria running up to me. She hugged my legs and I almost fell backwards. But I didn't.

"Hey, baby, what's wrong?" I asked and she just held onto me. "I'll take that as in you just missed me" I asked and she nodded her head against my leg. I placed my hand on her head and then moved down to her her back so I could comfort her.

"Aria?" I heard someone ask and turned my head around to see Jack, Elijah and The Doctor.

"She won't let go, so it's a lost cause." I said and walked towards the living room with Aria still on my leg.

She laughed as I walked in and when we got into to the living room; Aria let go and ran off somewhere. I smiled when I saw she went over to Hope and Stefan. Everybody still hadn't noticed I walked in yet. I coughed and they looked up at me.

"Didn't anyone miss me?" I asked and Stefan and Damon were the first ones to hug me.

"We did." Damon whispered in my ear and they hugged me tighter than Elijah.

"Easy with the hugs." They let go of me and I took a deep breath. "I think I have a broken rib from the hug Elijah gave me." I said. Damon rolled his eyes at me and so did Elijah while everybody else laughed.

"Do I get a hug?" Someone asked and I looked behind Stefan to see Caroline.

"As long as you don't hurt me...sure." I said and walked over to Caroline. She hugged me really lightly.

"Are you ok?" Caroline asked me as we hugged. I nodded and tried to pull away but she kept me in her arms.

"I just feel like history is repeat itself and I'll be left heartbroken." I said and tried to pull away again but no luck.

"I know and why do you keep trying to pull away?" She asked and I sighed.

"I'm not much of a hugger." I said and I knew she was rolling her eyes at me.

"Are you kidding me? You love hugs." I didn't say anything. "What happened?" She asked and I didn't know how to answer that so I told her why I don't like hugs.

"Hugs are just a way to hide your face. Like lies are words and words." I said and then Caroline pulled away.

She looked into my eyes and then frowned. "What happened?" Caroline asked and I looked at The Doctor.

"He happened." I said and then walked over to Aria. She smiled at me and we walked onto the balcony.

Caroline's P.O.V

Emily and Aria walked off and I looked at The Doctor. "What did you do?" I asked him and he looked down.

"I did something to her that I will probably regret for the rest of my life." The Doctor said and everybody looked at him confused. Even Jack, which surprised me. I knew he wasn't going to say anything with everybody in this room.

"Elijah go check on Emily and Aria." He looked at me confused. "Go." He did went and I sighed. I looked back at Jack and he nodded. "Can I talk to you two in private? No, listening in." I said and we walked into a different part of the house.

"What did you want to talk about?" The Doctor asked and I looked at him.

"I think you know." I said and he looked very confused.

"I'm sorry I-" I cut him off.

"Look I'm her best friend and everybody in that room including me care about her. Now tell me what happened?" I asked him and he looked at Jack before looking back at me.
