It was an hot muggy day in the big city of New York, and everyone at the institute was working diligently to help make repairs and start getting ready for spring and eventually summer but with how the weather has been the last couple of days they wouldn't be surprised if the weather  stays hot all through April , but that will be a real drag seeing as Alec Lightwood had bought some new sweaters and he definitely was not about to put them to waste because of the weather .''Hermano please take that ridiculous sweater off because I refuse to have to take care of you if you come down with heat stroke.'' that made Alec glance down at his sweater which was solid black ,he then paired it with his black jeans and combat boots with a couple seraph blades tucked inside of his shoes along with his thigh holster "really Izzy I am fine I don't feel hot at all" Isabelle looked over at him her eyebrows furrowed and her lips pursed at the ends "just because you don't feel hot doesn't mean your not hot go sit down in the shade some where and I'll go get us some ice cream " she then turned on the heal of her foot and began to walk behind him to one of the few venders in the zoo, that's right zoo,since neither Izzy, Alec, nor Jace have been to the zoo before so  Clary ,Simon , and Magnus took it upon themselves to take them to one in Queens , it was very exciting except for the fact of the stray looks that were shot their way, most of them were directed towards Alec ,seeing as what was stated before,  is walking around on an hot muggy day not only wearing all black but also  an sweater on in the middle of April but there's one thing Alec Lightwood is most notorious is for wearing sweaters which in his opinion  is the most comfortable thing ,along side sweat pants , and fuzzy  socks , to be ever made and he wasn't going to stop because of the stupid weather. While Alec sat scowling to himself on the bench he didn't notice the nervous zoo keeper coming up from behind him.

It was Dave's first day working at the Queens zoo in New York , well really it was his first week seeing as Dave has never been to New York before but he was having an great time so far , he worked in the petting zoo and it was just an amazing thing seeing the smiles some people have when they see or pet an goat or sheep for the first time ,heck just yesterday he saw first hand an grown 68 year old man squeal out of pure delight upon petting an rabbit for the  first time  ever , so Dave was pretty sure he can make about anyone's day if he really tried  so imagine his surprise when he saw an pale teenager in all black scowling at nothing but  the pure air infront of him. Dave decided to go over there to try and figure out what the problem is or he would have   to kick him out seeing as he is kinda scaring away the visitors away.

As Alec was figuring out ways of how he can possible get the claves help in stopping the horrible weather phenomena which was global warming he heard an soft shaky voice right behind him, he then whipped his head back to see where the voice is coming from to be met with the sight of an boy six inches shorter than him with an head full of brown tight curls on the top of his head and bad tan marks on his face, neck and arms he had soft features with thin lips his eyes dark brown and with a small button nose , paired with his uniform beige shirt, shorts, and boots "u-uhh sir do you need any help ?"  Alec stared at him for a couple more minutes before deeming him not a threat "um no I do not, in fact I was just waiting for my little sister to come back from getting us some ice cream, why is this area off limits or something?" Dave stared at him open mouthed a little because he thought  that he was going to cause some trouble with how he was scowling at the air it's just he didn't expect him to be so...polite. "oh no you're okay sir its just that..." Dave chuckled slightly an hand rubbing at the back of his neck out of sheer embarrassment "you were kinda scaring away the visitors with the whole" he began to circle his face with his hand still kinda chuckling to himself Alec stared at him with his brows furrowed before realizing what he meant and even Alec started to blush because he wasn't expecting anyone to be watching him and at seeing Alec's face and replaying that sentence over himself he definetly can  understand why Alec is looking at him with such a creeped  out face  "oh nn-n-no no no it was, I wasn't just looking at you I mean yes I was but not the way you are thinking its just that you were scowling so I thought you were an...trouble maker or something of the other but its like you are so polite and do you want to come to the petting zoo it won't take long and I hope you can accept this as an way of cleaning the slate?" Alec just blinked at him and then slowly started to nod his head he gave a small smile (which in Dave's opinion was an very cute smile.) and he turned and went into the petting zoo section Dave watched as he went to the section and breathed out an little sigh of relief.
