In the morning, Alice wakes me up and makes breakfast. I eat it without a question. We head to school the same way we did yesterday.
- lunch -
At lunch I decide to end things with Alice or rather tell her about my girlfriend. I grab Claire's hand. When I walk through the door, I instantly see Alice sitting by her self. I hope she doesn't take this badly but the dare is done and over with. We walk towards Alice. Here it goes.
"Hey Alice." I say. "This is Claire Snowcandle. She is my girlfriend." I am watching her face to see her reaction. She gets up and shakes Claire's hand.
"Nice to meet you." She says. All of a sudden her breathes become quicker and short. I don't know what to do or what's happening. Should I go get some one?
Alice starts breathing more heavily. Is she having a heart attack? She falls to the ground. "What's happening, Alice? "At first I don't think she is going to tell me.
Then I hear her whisper," Panic attack. " I leave the room to get the nurse. This is all my fault...
I hear the nurse ask Alice," Can you walk?" Without her answering the nurse tries to lift her to her feet, but Alice's body is as limp as a dead body.
I go over to help the nurse help Alice up. I put Alice on my shoulder. I carry her to the nurses office. She has passed out.
- half an hour later -
I've been thinking way to much sense Alice passed out. This is all my fault. The principal is asking us questions. Alice's mom is here with some guy. I see Alice sit up and I run over to her. I instantly ask,"Are you OK?"
"Why do you care?" She snaps at me. Wow I must have hurt her bad.
"Because I care about you,you are my friend." I say. Her feelings look hurt now. I remember the kiss. I had felt something there that I don't with Claire. But I still love Claire.
Her mother steps in," She's fine. It was just a panic attack." She turns to the principal, "I have to go now." She leaves without another word.
"Alice, are you OK?" The principal.
"Fine." She says flatly. She's not fine.
"OK, well off you are too class."
She walks out of the room and Claire and me behind her. Why do I always get the stupid dares?
