There once was a little boy who shone as brightly as the sun. He was always happy, skipping around, playing games, and was never seen without his a smile on his face. His smile blinded everyone who laid eyes upon its beauty.

Literally.

It was the most beautiful thing in the world but every time someone saw it their eyes burned and melted down into their skull.

Old folk who were certain to die would request to see him. They wanted to see something stunning and beautiful before their death. Seeing his smile confirmed both what they wanted and their impending passing.

Other people who passed by and witnessed it has only seen the beauty, a bright light, and then their life before their eyes.

The boy never knew what was wrong and why this kept on happening. Slowly, his smile started to dwindle. He started to be able to see what people's faces actually look like instead of seeing the marred and mangled faces of everyone who has seen his deadly smile.

Every place he traveled to he saw people smiling, not one had a frown on their face. He missed the way his muscles felt in his cheeks whenever he smiled. People gave him odd looks, wondering why he was different and why a boy as young as he is isn't happy and joyful.

One day, on his way through a tiny town, he saw a boy, the same age as himself, sitting in an alley and crying. His clothes were torn and his face was bruised and dirty. He wondered what was wrong with the sad boy, and he slowly approached him. The boy looked up and startled and frowned even deeper. It was as if he was worried about someone seeing even the tiniest hint of joy on his face. It was only then that the boy that was standing noticed that the disheveled boy had a sort of blueish grey aura, or glow, around him.

In the boy's past he was always seen with a smile, not unlike the other boy, but when people saw his smile they immediately grew sad and depressed, as if they had just seen a puppy get ran over. A few hours later it would be the word around town that someone had killed themselves out of depression and agony. Those said people were the ones who had witnessed the boy's smile.  He eventually stopped smiling and felt his own sort of depression. He felt guilty of all the people he had killed with his smile.

He found an empty and dark alley and started crying for the first time in his life, and that was how the boy with the shining smile had found him.

He had stopped crying by then and had his head tilted to the side like an owl's in confusion. The boy with the poisonous smile mimicked his actions. They both giggled and soon started full out laughing just because they haven't done so in so long.

The boy with the aura about him stopped when he saw how brightly the other boy shone and didn't look at if he was depressed at all. He too stopped and realized that the other boy wasn't screaming in agony with his eyes melting in his head.

It was as if the aura from the dirty boy had equalled out the shine from the boy's smile.

They gasped simultaneously.

Their interaction were as if the sun and the moon had met. They walked out the alley way with smiles on their faces, not having to worry about hurting anyone or anything because now, they had each other.
