Hazel's POV~

I slowly opened my eyes but closed them quickly due to the bright light in front of me. Once I got the courage, I opened them up again.

My cheek was cushioned against soft fleece, and I soon realized what I had used as a pillow last night. I could feel my cheeks start to burn, though we were in Ice Cave, and I moved away from my redhead rival. To make matters worse, I realized he was awake, too.

"S-Sorry," I stuttered, moving next to Lyra who was asleep in Gold's lap. Silver cracked a grin at my embarrassment, causing me to blush even more.

"I didn't mind," he replied, his smile replaced with a blush.

We sat in silence for about ten minutes, but something didn't feel right about this place. There was a strange...presence lingering in the air.

"Do you feel that?" I asked quietly so I wouldn't wake up Lyra or Gold.

"Feel what?" He asked, raising an eyebrow.

"That...presence." I answered.

"What are you talking about, Hazel?"

"Just listen."

After a few more minutes, Silver still looked confused, but I knew it wasn't my imagination.

"I'm going deeper into the cave," I decided, standing up.

"Are you crazy?" He asked, following me down the icy path.

"Hmm..nope! I don't think so!" I joked. "But, seriously, something doesn't feel right. Like there's something deeper in the cave."

"I still think you're crazy. What could be here that is creating this "presence"?" he interrogated. "I'm going back."

He turned around to go back to camp and I grabbed his jacket sleeve. He slapped my hand away, of course, and turned again to face me.

"Hey," I started, "I know we're not the best of friends..but you've gotta trust me on this one, 'kay? I know there's something down here. Maybe a pokemon or a stone that's radiating some kind of aura. Trust me, I know what I'm doing."

He nodded and he looked pretty convinced. The farther we walked, the stronger the presence got, the colder it got. Blizzard was enjoying it, though. I had no idea what lay where we were headed, but I was determined to find out.

The strong aura led us towards a clear opening with ice-covered rocks everywhere. There was an enormous rock sitting in the middle with something or someone perched on the top.

My mouth dropped open along with Silver's once I figured out what it was. Blizzard returned herself into her pokeball even though she hated it. I searched for his hand with mine and gripped the glove covering tightly when I found it. He gave me a light squeeze in response.

Normally, he would've slapped it away, but right now, he understood the fear that I felt at this very moment. I needed confirmation that he was here and I wasn't alone. He reached for a pokeball with his free hand and I stopped him.

"It's on a high level...high 80's. I wouldn't do that if I were you," I warned.

"If we don't attack, it will," he whispered back.

"But we don't want it to see us as a threat. If we battle it, we'll lose. The best option is to try and be compatible with it."

"How do we do that?" he asked, but before I could answer, it jumped straight at us.

"Hazel!" Silver yelled, quickly pushing me out of the way of the deadly Psychic type.

"Blade!" I called, releasing my Gallade. Blade stood in front of us protectively and looked back at me, unsure. "Try to communicate with it. Tell it we're not a threat."

"Hazel, that's not going to work! It is said to have the most savage heart of all pokemon!" Silver objected.

"If you dig deep enough, you'll find a little bit of love. Trust me! I found it in you!"

He nodded reluctantly and the large pokemon fired an attack. Blade created a red, circular barrier around us, disabling the attack from hitting us. He then sent jolts of soothing pink sparks towards the beast, calming it little by little.

After repeating this process several times, the red in the monster's eyes began to fade. It seemed annoyed with us though. It marched up to the barrier around us and punched it repeatedly. Blade used all his strength to protect us and send psychic messages towards the attacking pokemon at the same time.

"It's cracking! We can't make it!" Silver said, revealing tiny cracks in the barrier.

"C'mon, Blade! I know you can do it! Use Psychic once more!" I commanded.

Blade let out a sharp cry as the barrier shattered and he sent a pink thunderbolt at the large pokemon in front of us, using the last of his energy.

Both pokemon fell back, Blade fainted. The beast then kneeled beside Blade, transferring some of its Psychic energy to him. Blade slowly sat up and inched away from the cruel pokemon, occasionally shooting small, pink sparks at it.

The pokemon turned towards us and glared, causing me to wince. Silver squeezed my hand once more reassuringly.

"Lade!" Blade called, standing in front of us. The opposing pokemon's eyes softened and it nodded.

Blade then returned himself and I stared at the pokemon in awe.

"Did we just..." I started.

"Tame Mewtwo? Yes, yes we did." Silver replied.

The big, pink pokemon came over to us and placed a large, bulky hand on one of our shoulders. Everything started to twist and turn in mixed, bright colors.

We instantly appeared at camp and I stumbled around, trying to regain my balance. Mewtwo used its Psychic to teleport all four of us. The swirl of colors returned and, before I knew it, we were at the exit of the cave.

"Thanks so much," I said, patting its head. Mewtwo nuzzled into my touch and I giggled. It then teleported back to its home.

Gold chuckled slightly and I looked back at him, confused.

"What?" I asked.

"Your love for pokemon," he answered. "it's incredible."

My cheeks grew a light shade of pink and I sighed. We all decided we should rest up for the night and we headed toward the Pokemon Center. I wonder what surprises await me tomorrow...
