It was middle of July when the kingdom got the news. The king has died and the queen has taken over. The queen was a wicked figure and craved royalty. For a few days, the entire kingdom shut out the world in fear of the repercussions. Our family in particular, discussed what we were going to do about this tragedy. We were officially at a tear. My mother wanted to stay here to try and wait out new royalty. My father, on the other hand wanted to leave our kingdom and go to the promised land, which is where he lived before he came here to live with mother.

After a few days of intense bickering and fighting, my very unsettled parents had come to a conclusion, my dad and I were going to the promised land and mother was going to stay here. I wanted to stay with mother, but she said it was for my own good that I was leaving. It was a few extra days before a ship came in that we were going to sail out on. This was it. I was about to leave everything I had ever had. No more friends and no more identity, who was I going to be and what was I going to become? As we got on the ship, I looked back at the land I would never see again.

So many memories I was going to leave. So many people I might never see again. As I turned around to face the sea that I was about to bear upon, a tear rolled down my cheek. We set sail only moments later and I glanced back at my mother for the last time. I was gone. I was a blank slate.
