Yang desperately tugged at her chains, hoping that she'd be able to break out. Her teammates were al also inside the orange barrier, but the story was on the outside.
Rei found himself knocked away again, the breath being blown away from his body.
"I told you, it's useless." Cinder said again, smiling wickedly. Rei slowly got to his feet, a determined look in his eyes. Cinder sighed in annoyance.
"You never learn, do you?" Cinder suddenly fired another blast of flames at Rei, intending for him to be knocked unconscious.
Instead, he somehow absorbed the flames, spreading the fiery element across and around his body. If the scales were across his arms and legs were just the beginning, then what he transformed into was the end. His body had sharp, black scales the curved outwards. His eyes were now fully red, his pupils no longer visible. He suddenly threw his head back and roared, bringing terror to Yang's state of mind. Rei suddenly rushed forward, his dragon-like fist blasting forward.
---
Glynda's head shot up as she hit the lobby floor and exited the elevator.
"This feeling.... Elliot, has Rei also gone berserk!?" Glynda thought.
"I hope he hasn't. Because if he has....... Then the only thing that will calm him down is....." Glynda paused as the words came to her mind like a train crashing into a wall, unleashing the memories and feelings she'd tried so hard to keep pent up.
"A kiss from the girl he loves."
---
Yang closed her eyes to cover them from the explosion Rei's fist created. When she opened her eyes, dust had once again risen and covered the air around the forcefield. Yang found it strange that she felt no impact, no shockwave, not even the ground shaking beneath her when Rei's fist made contact with Cinder.
"Oh right. The forcefield probably did some weird thing that blocked the blast."
Her attention was drawn back to the fight, the dust settling slightly. She narrowly made out two figures, glaring at each other.
"That's not Rei..."
"I'm impressed. Your power gain is immense, however..." Cinder said, dropping the words as she watched Rei's body roar again.
"The power is still.... Instinctual. It's far too powerful for you to maintain, and as such since you no longer have control of your power, your power controls you." Cinder sighed again.
"It's quite sad, really. Now I'll have to break you." Cinder said, her eyes lighting on fire. She suddenly heard a sound far behind her, a helicopter approaching her position.
"Hmph. It seems our little battle will be put on hold for now. Remember my face, Son of Elliot, for it will be a face you will never forget." Cinder cooed as she disappeared in a haze of flames.
"And I forgot to mention. That forcefield will kill anyone inside of it within 15 minutes of activation. It's been 13 minutes." Cinder said as the dust she had transformed into disappeared fully.
Yang had finally broken the chains restraining her, and now she was slamming on the forcefield trying desperately to break out. She used both her fists, crashing them down onto the forcefield.
"Rei!" Yang shouted, attempting to wake the male from his berserk state.
"Rei! What's happened to you!?" She exclaimed while still smashing the forcefield. Rei's body turned to her, a vicious scowl on his face. He walked up to the barrier, prepared for an easy kill. He raised his fist, almost drooling at the thought of an easy kill. Yang's eyes widened in horror as she thought he was going to touch the forcefield, thereby making contact and having the life sucked out of him.
He never brought the fist down to break the forcefield.
Rei's dark red eyes suddenly landed on Yang's desperate expression. His complete red eyes soon began to fade, his fist lowering.
"Yang..." Rei said as he leaned forward and touched the forcefield.
