Chapter 5: The first day

A/N: Heyyyyy XD So sorry about not posting over the past few days. I'm sorry <3 I'm going to try to post more regularly now. I will be disciplined! (hopefully) XD

Sunlight was streaming, or as best it could through the windows. The lake glowed a light green and fish and the inhabitants of the Lake flitted past. I stretched and yawned. Climbing out of bed, I went to my trunk and saw 4 sets of neatly folded Slytherin uniforms. Each with a necktie to top it off. I picked up the uniform closest to me and changed in the bathroom.

Coming out of the bathroom, I folded my pajamas and placed them by my pillow. I picked up my bag and put in two quills, and ink pot, 6 rolls of parchment and a small packet of owl treats. Satisfied, I grabbed my wand off the bedside table and began walking to the Great Hall. I met Amyleah on the way and waved. She came running over and greeted me with enthusiasm.

"Hey Alya!"

"Hey Amy!"

"Are you excited about getting out time tables?"

"Of course! I think that DADA, Potions, Transfiguration, Care of Magical Creatures and Charms sound fun!"

"Totally! And Flying lessons!"

"Yes!"

Amy and I chatted about subjects and whatnot until we got to the Great Hall. Amy rushed off the meet another Slytherin friend and I waved and sat next to Draco. Draco gave me a small smile and looked up. Maybe he was expecting mail? Now that I thought about it... so was I. Ma and Pa were supposed to to have sent me a letter! 

Giving up on waiting, I dug into my breakfast. After eating some toast, I wrapped four slices in a napkin to eat later. Whoosh! I looked up, owls were swooping in through high set windows. It was incredible! I spotted Athena and held out my hand. Athena dropped onto my arm and stuck out her leg. I took the letter from her talons and ave her a pat. She cooed happily and took a swig of my orange juice. She ruffled her feathers and flew off to the Owlery. Sighing happily, I opened the letter and began to read.

Dear Alya,

How has Hogwarts been so far? Orion told be that you've been sorted into Slytherin. Well done, Pa and I are very proud of you. I've got to go to work soon, but remember that we love you. We'll see you at Christmas, or sooner if Pa or I have to come to school for any reason.

I smiled and looked forward to the Head Table. Mcgonagall was dinging her glass for our attention.

"All students are to receive their timetables. Prefects, begin"

Prefects stood on either side of the table, and they began working their way down the line. I received my time table and looked at it

Monday:

8:00 - 9:00: Flying Lessons

9:00 - 10:00: Herbology

10:00 - 11:00: Charms

11:00 - 12:00: Lunch

12:00 - 1:00: Potions

1:00 - 2:00: Care of Magical Creatures

Tuesday:

8:00 - 9:00: Defense Against the Dark Arts

9:00 - 10:00: Flying Lessons

10:00 - 11:00: Potions
