Call of the void

I heard the whirring of sirens my head throbbing, I opened my eyes to see a confused looking girl who was presumably talking on the phone.

"Um... I'll call you back babe." Her movements were slow and she hung up and pocketed her mobile. "Are you okay?" She held out her hand and her bracelets jingled as she did. I stared at her carefully painted baby pink nails in surprise. "I don't have all day, and clearly neither do you, I'll take you to the emergency room?"

"A 'n E." I corrected, taking her hand I hauled my self up steadying myself on the metal rail that ran around the edge of the elevator. "And I don't need it I'm fine."
I fumbled for my phone and she grabbed it, "what are you doing?!"
"I'm calling your girlfriend."

"I- I don't have a girlfriend."

"Yes you do. I know you Carim."

"No you don't."

"Don't argue with me." She glared at me her eyes glassy still tapping on my phone without looking, she pressed once more and held the phone to her ear then turned her back to me, "Nevaeh, hey!" She changed her posture as if she was speaking to a family friend and waved her left hand around as she spoke, "Yeah that's it, see yah!" She whipped around her heels clicking on the wood floor. "Nev's on her way." She said pursing her lips into a smile.

"Your sister?" I asked grinning.

"You know who she is," The girl said rolling her eyes and handing me my phone, holding it between her finger nails, "Here, and you should get a new one."

"Why?" I raised one eyebrow.

The girl opened her mouth to reply but she was interrupted, Nevaeh bounded in pushing her aside and linking her arm in mine, "Walk with me." She said ducking her head turning on her heel and striding back the way she came.

"Wha-"

"Shut up." Nevaeh snapped bundling me into her car and starting the engine.

"Nevaeh-"

"You shouldn't be hanging around with girls like her."

"I-"

"I don't care."

"Nevaeh-"

"I don't care."

"Listen to me!"

"No."

"Please?"

"No. Shut up."

I sighed, Nevaeh was one tough cookie.

Hallo my friends, sorry this took soooo long to update I actually finished it a long time ago but I wasn't completely happy with it :/ it's quite short but I'm still quite proud of it :D
