This is a true story about a young couple who alway kept trying, until they had the daughter they'd prayed for for so long. The couple and their sons names are made up to respect their privacy.

Wendy had always wanted a daughter. Bobby wanted her to be happy. They planned to have 4 children, 2 girls and 2 boys. They would name them Travis, Steven, Megan, and Shannon. They got married, and 3 years later, Wendy learned she was pregnant with a little girl, Megan. They were elated, they bought dresses and bows and everything they would need for their daughter. 7 1/2 months later, they got terrible news. Megan had died. They were horrified, and Wendy blamed herself. They decided it would bring some closure to do something for her. So they planted a tree, the Megan-Tree, in their yard. They planted it on her due-date, so they'd never forget her birthday. If she was still alive, Megan would be 22.
Three months later, Wendy was once again pregnant. They had a little boy, Steven, and although he was small and sickly, he grew up to be a strong pilot in the US Airforce. They moved when Steven was four, taking the Megan-Tree with them. Steven is 21.
The next child had a completely healthy pregnancy. Then, the day he was born, Greg had his umbilical cord wrapped around his neck. Little Greg nearly died, but the nurses brought him back. Greg grew up to be a healthy 16 year old boy.
The next child was Shannon. She died 5 week into the pregnancy. Wendy and Bobby were unsure if she was a boy or a girl, but they assume she was a girl, as the boys never had complications during the pregnancies. Shannon, if she had lived, would be 14.
The next child was Calilea "Cal". Cal grew very sick, and Wendy had to take pills to keep little Cal alive. Wendy prepared herself to lose another little girl. Miraculously, Cal survived. On February 15, at 11:30 pm, Wendy went into labor. Cal was stuck. At 2:30, Wendy had a C-section. C was born at 3:00 am, February 16. She is a healthy 13 year old.
Wendy and Bobby decided to have on more child. Thomas was born 2 weeks early, through C-section, because he grew abnormally fast. Thomas was their last child. He is 11 years old.
They had 4 healthy children, three boys, each 5 years apart, and one girl. They were left with the painful memories of two little girls, who they'll meet someday, in Heaven, where they'll never be apart.

If Shannon had been born, Cal wouldn't have. When Cal was little, she'd feel guilty, because she thought God had taken Shannon so that she would live. She doesn't, not anymore, but she wishes she could meet her two sisters.
