"...Because the last time you saw me is still burning the back of your mind
You gave me roses and I left them there to die..."

Taylor Swift's "Back to December" describes me so much. I used to listen to it on a loop. Eric used to take away my iPod so I wouldn't listen it. It was my escape. It was my train back to memory lane.

It's been a week since school started. It's already the weekend and I came so fast. Eric and Addie are my now partners in crime. They pull me out of my memory lane. Addie and Eric have inside jokes now. They have their own little friendly world.

Nicole must be jealous that I've made more friends than her in just a week and so far she has zero friends.

Don't get me wrong, this isn't a competition between us but all of the conversations I had with her in the past were mostly about how she had the hottest boys begging for her attention (later I discovered that was a lie) or how she got invited to parties because of how hot she was (also a lie because she went to those parties to have sex with someone). So, my friendship with her wasn't even a good one. She constantly made me feel inferior to everyone or completely useless for not having sex and for not having a thousand guys chasing my tail.

All the cool people sit with us. Even though I've started to really know all these people a week ago, it has been nice. I never knew the guys could be so...fun.

Nicole and I used to sneak into the boys locker room to stare at some perfectly toned bodies.

Now, I don't have to anymore. I was their friend. I was close to them. Probably the closest I have been with them all my life and I've known them for as long as I can remember but nothing like this. We even had our own little table with the boys of our class in the cafeteria.

"So, you know Fanny? The one that had a plastic surgery?" said Addie. Such gossipers.

"Mhm, what up with her?" said Eric with food in his mouth.

"I heard that one of her breasts exploded while she was having sex with Patrick. I think he played with them a little too hard" said Addie and all the guys started to laugh so hard and make inappropriate comments about breast enlargement surgery.

Addie was answering all kinds of questions. I was just staring at them in awed. I find it intriguing how confident she is talking about that with curious guys. Eric was staring at me oddly. Only to find out he was not staring at me.

He was looking past me.

"Welcome Back Party at my house. Tonight. Be there and party... hard" Nicole approached us with flyers. She was handing it out to everyone. Nicole always throws parties to meet the new students and fool around with one or two of them. She told me that she used to fool around with seniors but one time she got drugged and things went crazy and she had a pregnancy scare. Now, to make sure that doesn't happen again, she drugs the sophomores. I wonder who her target is this year. Maybe Eric? Hell no. He is not a sophomore anyway. One does not simply break a person just to hook up with them again. Well, unless you are Nicole. That could be a possibility.

I instantly look at Addie and we knew what this meant... SHOPPPIING!

"Let's ditch and go shopping" said Eric.

"Yeah, let's be rebels" Addie said. I am not sure if I should go with this.

"J, you are coming, right?" Eric was scanning my expression.

"Let's go. Junnie is a good girl" Addie said. She knew how to push my buttons. My god. I stood up and threw my plate in the trash can. They all stood up to examine me.

And after a brief silence...

"Let's go" that sentence I said was the birth of my inner rebel. A rebel I was capable of being.
