Chapter 1: Like any Other Normal Day

P.S. This story has nothing to do with alpacas, except a tiny part near the beginning, I needed a random word for the examples.

Chapter 1: Like any Other

Normal Day

Katsumi’s POV

I woke up hearing yelling from my Captain, most likely about Rangiku being drunk...again and me having to do all her work...again. I normally do it for her, against the Captain’s wishes though. I sighed while getting out of my bed and started to get ready for today. Once I was done, I was about to leave the room I almost forget something really important, my zanpakutō.

'Really Katsumi?! You forget your own zanpakutō?!"'I scolded myself in my head.

After I grabbed my zanpakutō, I place it behind my back and secure it with the silver chain that I attached to both ends of my sheath for my sword with a pin that looks like a coiled dragon with its wings spread out clasped in the middle, just like Toshiro's pin. I also see my new book that Ichigo bought for me from the World of The Living, I grab it just in case I get bored after all my work and I start to make my way to the Squad 10 barracks to get the mountain of work that I’ll probably need to do, done. I start to rush a bit, and as I speed walk (looks more like jogging if you ask me :P) I rounded a corner and ended up smashing into someone, falling to the ground, and dropping my book. I get up, along with my book and immediately bowed apologetically, not even looking up who I crashed into.

“Oh my gosh I’m so sorry!”

“Haha, no thats quite alright. But are you ok?” I look up and see Captain Ukitake smiling down at me.

“Yes I'm fine Captain Ukitake.” I smile back at him. His smile falls a bit.

“Katsumi, how many times have I told you to call me Jushiro?” I giggle.

“Too many times now.” I said looking up to him and giving him a grin

“By the way, where are you going in such a hurry?”

“Just to my squads office to get through Mt. Paperwork.” I smile as I roll my eyes at my joke. He chuckles in response.

“Good luck, try not to run into anymore people on the way.” He smile and continues on his way.

“Bye Jushiro!” I yell and wave.

“Bye, bye Katsumi.” He says turning his head and waving. Then with that I carefully but quickly run to the Squad 10 office.

~Time Skip To Outside The Squad 10’s Office~

I walk inside the Squad 10’s building and say hi to everyone I pass by. When I get to the door of Toshiro's office, I immediately start plotting an amazing entrance.

'Maybe I should jump in and yell good morning…hmm yea I should.'

I back up as much as I can and I make  running start, I grab the doorknob, open it and shout almost as loud as I can

“GOOD MORNING TOSHI-KUN!~” I swear Toshiro's face, when he almost fell backwards on his chair, was priceless. I walk in laughing my head off.

“For gods sake Katsumi its still morning, and your supposed to call me Captain Hitsugaya” he grumbles back. I just giggle and walk over to Sora whos at my desk doing some work.

“G'morning Sora, why are you here so early?”

“...I got bored…here take over”

“Ok.” He gets up and walks over to the bookshelf to find a decent book. After about 2 minutes he finally finds one and sits down on the couch to read. After I see him find a book and sit down, I sigh in relief, Sora can be very scary and dangerous when he’s bored. I took out my phone and started to click some buttons and I plugged in some little earbuds in. I see in the corner of my eye, Toshiro eyeing my phone suspiciously.

“I got Urahara to make me a bunch of special phones where I could contact anyone I wanted to from either in the Soul Society, the World of the Living or Hueco Mundo. I gave one to everyone and I already programmed it so anyone who has this phone can contact anyone else who has to. Oh and here's yours, catch!" I lightly threw the phone to him and he catches it with his free hand.

"Here Sora catch, this ones yours." I lightly threw it to him and he catches it too and he just stares at it, I smile and go back to my work. But before I do I click some buttons and my favorite song comes on, I smile and start to hum to the song and start working my way up Mt. Paperwork. I hear a sigh from Sora and I look up to see him at my desk with a bored look on his face.

'Oh god he's bored I have to make another scavenger hunt.' I start writing a bunch of random objects on the paper and then I handed it to him.

"Here Sora, another scavenger hunt." He takes the paper and leaves the room.

"Thanks."

"No problem" and then I went back to my work.

‘That should keep him occupied for a couple hours.’ I thought, smirking to myself.

‘Don’t count on it, he flash-steps preeeetttyyy fast remember?’ Kurimuzon stated back.

‘Yea yea I know, you don’t need to remind me.’

‘Hahaha you better get to work, Mt. Paperwork won’t climb itself.’

‘Shhh… do you want to come out and play?’

‘Naw it’s fine, later I will’.

‘Ok then.’  and with that, I went back to my work, but I stop and wonder,

‘Where did Rangiku go? I heard her earlier...’

“Hey Toshiro, where’s Rangiku?” I ask looking up from my work.

“I sent her to her room to rest” he replies without looking up.

“Ok” I said going to my work.
