Jeanette- Age 17
"I'm pregnant," I said.
His face turned pale, and beads of sweat formed above his brow. I started to shake nervously. His long fingers moved slowly through his thick hair in confusion.
"I'm sorry," I said with a wince.
"Who's baby is it?" he asked sternly, with no sympathy on his face. "So help me God, if this is not my child, Jeanette, I will..."
I started to tear up.
"Aaron! What kind of question is that? Of course it's your child!" tears flowed down my face, "How could you think that? I'm not like that, and for you to think I am...."
His face quickly turned to regret.
"I'm sorry...I...I was just nervous, I'm sorry, I know you wouldn't cheat..," guilt poured down his face, as he watched to gentle tears roll down my cheeks.
There was an awkward silence.

Aaron- Age 18
Nervous.
Scared-scratch that-terrified.
Confused.
Some of the many emotions I was feeling.
But then it hit me.
How?
Werewolves couldn't have children, we adopted natives.
And Vampires couldn't have children, they bit to reproduce.
"How?" I thought aloud, "We..I..mean...Lupus and Lamia...neither has ever had a child through a mortal birth process...,"
"I don't know," she whispered slightly, "I wish I did."
"How far are you in your pregnancy?" I asked, with a nervous shake.
"Not sure, but I can't be far. I need to go to a doctor but-" she started, sniffing, "He'll know. He will know that I'm not human. And we can't go back to the island."
"We will do anything we have to do for this baby," I said, feeling like a true father.
"Aaron, this forbidden. They will kill the baby on the island. They are very strict in their rules." she said, taking a deep gasp at the thought of her baby getting killed.
"No," I said, "Alpha and the tribe won't. They can't. They aren't allowed to kill vampires; and this baby is half-Lamia. They aren't allowed."
"You also aren't allowed to associate with vampires, and if one came on your island, don't you think they would be furious?" she said, pale as a ghost.
"Yes. But they will understand. We are a family." I said, with a warm tone in my voice.
I looked into her deep blue eyes, and I could tell she was as confused as I was.
She looked hazy, tired, and depressed.
She needed reassurance.
"I will be the best father for this child. I will protect you at all costs, and whatever may happen, I will make sacrifices. We are in this together, now. I love you, Jeanette McLough, and I will be the proud father of your child."

Jeanette- Age 17
When he said this, my heart skipped a beat.
This was real, and he was real, as well.
It was all really happening.
And Aaron would stand by my side.
I hadn't been this happy in centuries.
Literally.
He sat down on the couch.
"Let's head to the Lupus half of the island tomorrow, and get advice," he said, beckoning me to sit by him.
I suddenly had a flashback, back to when he did this on the island, and he motioned me to sit by him in the sand.
I sat down by him, feeling warm inside.
He wrapped his arm around me, touching my stomach.
"What should we name him?" he laughed, setting a happy mood.
"Him?" I asked.
He laughed, "I've always wanted a son."
"I wanted a girl!" I nudged, teasingly.
"Well, we can plan for both," he said with a smug expression.
"Aaron Jr.?" he laughed.
"Sure," I said shaking my head, "So original."
"You try," he said.
"How about Aanette(a-net), for a girl? A mixture of our names?" I tried.
"I love it, if you do," he said with a nod.
"We will have to keep trying," I said.
"Whatever happens, or whatever we name it, I will always love you, Jean."
I smiled, with a laugh.
He knelt down on one knee.
It was happening.
I felt tears, and every other emotion one could possibly feel.
"I don't have a ring yet, and this is kind of spur of the moment," he started.
I gave a slight laugh.
"But I am positive I want to spend the rest of my life with you." he said, eyes aglow,...
"...Jeanette, will you marry me?
