It is just a casual day at the Stark Tower. Both Stark and Banner were at the tower to wait for any news from S.H.I.E.L.D. Good news, that is. Stark was in the gym working on his cardio. After about enough pull-ups, he stopped and glanced at Banner, which was in the other room reading. He took his towel and walks over the other room.
“You seem to be always reading, doctor. Does it really helps?” Stark approaches, wiping his perspiration off. Banner looked over, closing the book at hand and hiding it in his coat. “Ah…no…it’s just…” Stark tried to sneak a peek at the book as Banner buttoned up his coat. “Y-Yeah…can I…help you?”
Rather annoyed, Stark tries to convince Banner. “Look doctor, I really want to know more about you. I want to help you. At least try to open up to me? Just a little?”
''Know more...Tony, you're probably the closest person that I have. And help me? Are you saying there's something wrong with me? Other than…having the “other guy”?'' Banner said, frowning.
“No, that's not--you know what I mean. I want to know you. The smart guy who knows so much and I want to get closer to you, even though I’m a genius but I can never read you, understand you.” Stark is determined to get Banner to see trust in him.
Banner sighed softly. ''But…there isn't anything exciting about me Tony... If you look past the whole...”other guy” thing, I'm just a totally boring human with no special features or anything...''
Stark place his hands on Banner’s shoulder for reassurance “No. There is something special in everyone. Even you, not including "the other guy"…” Banner looked up at Stark. ''But…I don't really know what that...special thing is…the only thing that is special is...'' Banner stopped and sighed again.
Stark sat opposite Banner, looking at him, thinking that it’s about time to come clean. “Well, to be honest, I actually admired you quite a bit. Since the first time we meet...” Banner rubbed the back of his neck, getting slightly flustered. ''W-well...its definitely appreciated…b-but...'' Before Banner could complete his sentence, Stark continued. “You are a great guy, smart, charming and more. You’re also one of the few people who accepted me for…well, me.” Stark looks at Banner, hoping for a positive reaction.
Banner rubbed his neck more. ''Well I um...I feel the same way Tony...not too many people…are like us...so...I'm just glad that that someone is you e-ehe...'' Stark leans closer. “Well, I’m glad to hear that...”
''Y-Yeah...'' Banner looked back at the Stark, blushing slightly. Banner smiled faintly, awkwardly. ''E-eh…T-Tony...?'' Stark decided to tease Banner a little, he reaches his hand out closer and taps the screen behind Banner, while whispering into his ear. “Just changing something on the screen.” However, as Stark pulls away, he sneaks a peck on his cheek.
Banner closed his eyes, cringing ever so slightly, but then he looked over at him with one eye. ''W-why you...'' Banner stopped, and blinked, looking at the Stark when his cheek was kissed.
“Did I shock you?” Stark grins cheekily, tapping away on the screen in midair. Banner’s face went red and he held his own cheek. ''Y-yes frankly y-you did...'' Stark swipes the screen away. “Good, I was going for that. You look good in a blush. I would say…adorable.”
''T-Tch...Are you t-trying to-'' Banner stopped his words and looked away. ''O-Oh God Tony...k-knock it off…'' Banner stuttered. Stark’s compliment left him completely embarrassed.
“What? I’m being honest. See, you do look charming.” Stark reaches forward and takes off Banner’s glasses. ''T...Tony...'' Banner looked over at Stark, swallowing somewhat hard. “Having your face this red is not helping me to not attack you.” Stark could not help but to tease him, seeing him so vulnerable.
Banner covered his face. ''Eeeeh...q-quit it...'' Stark place the glasses on the table and reaches out once again to uncover Banner’s hands from his face. “Don’t cover your face. Let me see…"
Banner closed his eyes, but slowly opened them to look up at Stark. ''..Nnh...'' Seeing Banner’s face red, he could not help himself but feeling the urge to kiss those lips. Stark unknowingly start to lean closer towards Banner, lusting for a kiss.
As their lips were about to touch, a voice scare the living hell out of the both of them. It was J.A.R.V.I.S, notifying Stark of an incoming call. “Sir, you have a call.” The electronic voice spoke.
“God, Jarvis…” Stark jumps slightly back and sighed, rather annoyed at their moment being ruined. Banner swallowed again, but jumped as well when he heard the voice. “Perfect timing…” He thought to himself sarcastically.
Stark hands the glasses back to Banner. “Here you go… I’m just going to…” Knowing the moment was ruined, Stark retrieved awkwardly and quickly. Banner took the glasses and watched Stark walk out, leaning back. ''Oh my...''
Stark went back to his room in the penthouse to pick up the call followed by heading to take a cold shower to calm himself down. “What was that…I almost wanted to…” Stark touch his own lips then splashed himself with the water in his palm.
Banner just sat there and thought for a little, but then returned to his book, trying to calm himself as well. Banner eventually grew bored of his book and rested his chin in his hand, slowly dozing off.
