Ellena was seven years old when she realized she was a little different than others. She had always had bigger thighs than the other kids, a rounder stomach, and chubbier cheeks. She was always happy in her body. That was before.

She was eight when she saw him for the first time. Pretty black hair and brown eyes the color of chocolate. His tanned skin was glistening with sweat as he kicked the ball over to a skinny blonde kid. She had never been able to run like that.

She hated the way he was able to move, so fast and so freely. She didn't struggle with moving, but she wasn't the best at it, either. She ran out of breath too quickly and barely made it through gym without passing out.

She was thirteen when she took a liking towards him. His smile was able to brighten her mood in an instant, the brush of his fingertips against her arm when he passed her desk gave her goosebumps. She hated admitting it, but she loved him.

At seventeen, she hated herself. She hated that her thighs rubbed together as she walked, the skin on her arms wobbled when she wrote her notes. Her stomach wasn't hidable under her clothes, her cheeks were too large for her face. She hated it.

But the one thing she didn't hate was him.
