Born To Break Hearts

After the fallout at school Cro was nice enough to drive me home; it was deathly silent in his car- not that I wanted to talk anyway. He pulled up in my driveway and opened my door for me. I fished my key out my pocket and turned to face Cro.

"You still frosted?" he asked almost as if he were annoyed.

I had to fight back the urge to punch him in his ribs. "No." I huffed through gritted teeth.

Cro looked serious for a second. "Let him keep the paper shaker and movwe on, babe."

He was right, I needed to let Kurloz go- forget about all of today's events even, but it just hurt so bad.

"Yeah," I mumbled. "You're right."

"Pile up some Z's and I'll come pick you up tomorrow." He smirked ruffling my hair.

"Night, Cro." I murmured.

"Later, kitten." He called getting back in his car.

I ran up to my room and flopped down onto the mattress; I was too emotionally and physically drained to put on pajamas. I crawled under the sheets and before I knew it I had cried myself to sleep.

*~*~*

Before I knew it my 6:30 am alarm was going off. I canceled the alarm and went back to sleep. I didn't want to get up, I didn't want to go to school, I didn't want to see Kurloz. I pulled the blanket over my head then tucked my head under my pillow. This is all bullshit. I stopped all my harsh thoughts then closed my eyes. I just wanted to sleep for days, but I couldn't miss any more school days, after all, yesterday was my first day back. I peeled myself off the mattress and headed to the bathroom to shower and brush my teeth.

After a hot shower I threw on an oversized sweatshirt and a trashy pair of jeans; I honestly didn't care how bad I looked. My eyes were red and puffy, my hair was a mess, and I looked like homemade sin. I shrugged then headed to the kitchen to make breakfast. I ate silently and started at the hardwood table while I waited for Cro. Being here alone and feeling sad really made me realize just how lonesome it was living alone; I fought the urge to cry as I finished my half-assed fried egg.

I sat for what felt like hours while I waited for Cronus. At about 9:15 he pulled up.

"You're late." I growled standing in the doorway.

"Vwhat's vwith the rags?" Cro questioned dumbfounded as he took in my appearance.

"It doesn't matter let's just go." I grumbled.

"Jeez, don't have a cow." Cronus argued.

"I just wanna get today over with!" I shouted.

"Cool it, I'll get ya to school, but first vwe's gotta get you all dolled up." He smirked.

"Why?" I complained.

"Cuz a pretty dame like you should alwvays be dressed to the nines."

Cronus pulled me up to my room and started going through the clothes in my closet.

"Go fix ya face." He ordered before I could even protest. I stomped off to the bathroom; I pulled out my makeup kit and did a natural concealer with no lipstick.

"Toss these on." Cro called throwing my clothes at me. I grit my teeth and threw them on; as much as I'd hate to admit it, Cronus actually did a pretty decent job. I swung open the door.

"Happy?" I growled at Cronus who was standing on the other side of the door.

"Oh, c'mon you're not even tryin'." Cro complained.

"What do you want from me?" I groaned.

"Go on, razz my berries." Cronus challenged.

"Ampora." I warned.

"Don't flake out on me now. Look hot to be hot."

"Fine, I give up I sighed." I contoured my makeup, winged my liner, put my hair up, shadowed my eyes, and used the brightest red lipstick I could find.

"Bitchin'." Cronus complimented. I rolled my eyes and pushed past him.
