I continue to wander aimlessly along the spotless footpath in front of dads luxurious holiday home. It's 6 AM and I probably look like a homeless person right now, decked out in my leggings, ghostly grey sleeping tank and cashmere cardi from Walmart. And to complete the look I have my hair thrown up in a messy half-assed bun with designer Gucci bags under my eyes.
I sit down on the cool, damp pavement crossing my long legs underneath me while contemplating life. I feel the coolness of the sidewalk seep into my bones chilling me to the core, the sun slowly rises casting hues of orange and yellow along the pavement. I allow my mind to drift away from reality and forget everything for a little while.
Ahh.... yes this is exactly how I wanted to spend my last day before going back to the horror that is senior school, I thought to myself sarcastically.
But with mum and dad practically ready to start throwing punches I had to get out, I knew mum shouldn't have come to pick me up, but god she's a stubborn woman, not wanting me to spend an extended amount of time with dad if only she knew the truth about them all.
It's a toxic environment I know but they're the only family I have left, well apart from mum and dad's partners, but I hardly call them family, I hardly even speak to them.

Finally, the first day of senior year has rolled back around and with it comes the bitchiness of senior school, or more specifically the bitch of senior school.
Alexis Robinson
The only girl that I know of that openly hates me for some magical reason. She is already up my ass about something I am clearly offending her about.
I'm clueless as to why, but Alexis has hated me since I first moved to Eastwood High in sophomore year. I tried multiple times to befriend her or make an alliance of some kind but she always declined ever so politely. I rolled my eyes at the memory of her childish antics.
Alexis is the typical popular school slut, and that's putting it nicely. There is not a guy at Eastwood High and the surrounding school districts that she hasn't slept with. Alexis is one of the lucky girls who seems to stay thin no matter what she eats, her chest-length dark brown wavy hair is always styled to perfection, and her dull grey eyes always hold a glare (usually aimed at me).
I ignore her though, like usual and walk over to my best friend Kassedy Chamber's whose waiting patiently by our crummy lockers (that with some serious sweet talking and her dad's wallet were conveniently next to each other).
"Hey Kass, how was your summer break?" I question her. I fiddle with my rusty lock, turning it clockwise, 37, 03, 33. My lock springs open making me blink before I place my folders and other required stuff for senior year in my 'new' locker. I lock it back up before grabbing my magenta colored gym bag and start heading in the direction of homeroom with Kassedy. I smiled at friends as they walked past and winked at a freshman who was staring at us. His face was soon sporting a deep red colour that reached from the base of his neck to the top of his head.
I tune into Kass as we walk to homeroom and think about the how great it is that this is our last year in this terrible institute. I wonder if Kass and I will still be friends after school or if we'll drift apart like everyone says high school friendships do. I can't imagine us not being friends, we've been friends since Kass saved me from the ultimate humiliation of walking into the senior boy's locker rooms. Kass, unlike me, was boy obsessed and flirted with the majority of the guys here. As great as a friend as she was, her and Alexa were competing for the title of school harlot.
I see why the guys liked her though, she had platinum blonde hair that was naturally straighter than a ruler but was currently curled in loose beach waves. Her bright blue eyes could pin anyone down with a single glance and her round lips always held a smirk, as if she knew something you didn't. Kass had that beach tan due spending the majority of her free time in tanning beds or applying tan to her once porcelain skin.
