Victoria walked up to me in the hall. "Robert likes you again." I stood there in silence, wondering if she was messing with me, and if she was then it wasn't funny considering the fact that I had just got over him. "Are you sure?" I reply.
"Yes. He told Quinton he was going to ask you on a date tonight."
I was still trying to decide if I had believed her or not. Suddenly Robert walked down the hall where me and Victoria were.
She walks off exclaiming "Get Someeee!"
"Oh! Lauren!!" It was Robert.
"Oh, hey Robert, whats up?"
"I was going to ask you something!"
"Okay..yes?" was this it..?!
"Umm, I was just..." He looked at the clock on the wall. "Oh crap!! The bell is about to ring! I'll ask later"
I walked away with my shoulders slumped. I entered Johnson's room for first hour and got out my laptop. On my mail app there was a badge with the number 2 on it. One from Victoria, and on from Robert. I opened Victoria's first.
Victoria: What did he ask you?
Me: He had to rush off when he saw the time.
I opened Roberts
Robert: I was going to ask you if you would like to go to the movies with me tonight?
My jaw dropped in disbelief. I did what I thought was right first.
Me: Aren't you still dating Selena?
Robert: No...we ended it a few weeks back, the long distance wasn't working out, and I told her I kind of liked you"
My hear was sad and happy at the same time. It was Friday...but my mom would still want me home by 10.
Me (to Victoria): Hey, do you think I can stay the night tonight? Robert wants me to go to the movies with him!
Victoria: Yeah! I'll have Shayla pick us up afterward!
Me: Okay! Thanks!
Me (To Robert): Yes, I can go, but Victoria is coming along.
Robert: Good! And that's fine! (:
I did a victory dance in my seat. I couldn't wait until that night.
Later that night when we went to the movies we sat in the back, Victoria sat a few rows in front of us. It was around Christmas time, so it was crowded. We watched Breaking Dawn, I had my cell phone out texting Lacee about our "date". My phone buzzed and I took it out of my hoodie pocket. Robert took his cell phone out and started typing something, my phone instantly buzzed, it was from him: Can I hold your hand? I replied with a big smile on my face: Haha yes! (: He grabbed my hand and twirls the ring on my finger. His hands are big and warm and soft.
When the movie was over we hung out until Shayla got to the movies. When she was finally there I said "Bye Robert!" And we hugged. As I was walking away he put his arms around my stomach and stopped me. I turned around and he laid his lips right smack on mine.
We hugged one last time and I was gone. While I was walking to Shayla's car my phone buzzed, I took it out of my pocket.
From Victoria: Get someeeeee!
And she put a picture of us kissing. I smiled a huge smile, and realized my dream had finally come true.
