Herobrine is an elusive character; appearing in many stories, faiths and historical events.
The miners tale is the oldest of these thing. It claims that the white eyed man would watch the miners and wait till they were alone to lure them down red stone lit passages. From which they would never return.
The tale was so influential that hole mining towns would be abandoned if a miner reported seeing the signs of him.
Of course one must remember that this was in the time when mobs still ran a mock and Notch was still active in this realm.
Which brings me to my next point of interest. The church of Notch has spoken of Herobrine as a kind of master demon or devil if you will. Their beliefs state that Herobrine is a fallen god, that disagreed with Notch and began to attack the first humans.
Notch protected his creations by locking Herobrine in the realm of the Never, with help from the Goddess of the Void of course.
Another interesting part of the story is that of the prophecy, "Three hero's will come all of different skills. Let there names be known as Drake, Armen and Grayson. One will suffer and the others feel great pain but they will defeat the evil that's name bring death." Interesting but not evidence since these hero's are no where to be found however hard the church searches.
However there is some solid evidence to his existence.
In most the old stories he is described as just a spirit who would watch until he could lure his victims away. The most recent sightings (in the last hundred years or so) have him as a destructive being with a physical body. Many towns have been attack by him and the only survivors died shortly after from blood loss or a weak heart.
These lands are abandoned since no crops will grown on the land and people still report seeing him if they get to close. That is until a strange occurrence happens. Two boys are said to appear in the corrupted land for a short time before vanishing again. They are always described as in their late teens one with raven hair and cyan eyes, wearing a white shirt and brown pants with shoulder pads. The entire of this boy seems to be fairly old but looks newly created on him. The other is by far more interesting, he fashion a blue top and pants almost identical to the demons, his hair is brown and eye blue but he is half Enderman. Considering how rare hybrids are and Endermen he is definitely an individual. After these two appear it is then safe to return to the area and the land flourishes.Taking into account how rare these attacks are it is unlikely I will bare wittiness to one. However I believe that this ancient being is as real as the Never. A incredible old diary recently was discovered that describes a young boy who made a deal with a demon. I believe this demon to be Herobrine. The dairy reads that he was offered powers to protect his family with, for a cost. The boy, who's name is Collin, slowly loses control and became a vessel for the spirit. I believe this explains why Herobrine is now more able the before. Another interesting factor about Collin is his younger brother called Armen. The end also reveals that he gives up his last bit of humanity to create a protector for Armen. He calls this new being Drake.
Two names from the Church's prophecy and maybe an origin for the two boys seen after attacks.
The diary has been called 'Collins dairy' and is being kept at the institute of knowledge. I highly recommend reading it if you are interested in Herobrine. He is definitely the hardest to study after the Goddess of course.
