(In the Batty Woods)
In a big beautiful old oak tree, a young male bat with dark brown fur and crystal blue eyes was pacing back and forth in worry, "My Son is something troubling you?" The male bat turned around to see a older female bat with pink eye's and pale brown fur, the young male sighed, "No mother I'm just..." The female smiled softly and finished, "Lonely." He looked away and out the hole in the tree and nodded, "Then why not go and see your friends, they would love to spend time with you."
He growled and grabbed the edge of the hole tightly, "Oh yes of course, my so called friends mother I've told you a thousand times they are not my friends they just like to get their ways by saying 'do this or else I'll sick my friend the future leader to have you banished' ugh they use my tittle as prince and only pretend to be my friends, I hate them." He growled as his claws clawed into the wood and his eyes turned red, he felt a soft hand grab a hold of his shoulder, "Oh angel eyes, you know that they don't do tha~" She was interrupted by one of the warriors coming in with a young bat and a smug looking bat behind them, "What is the meaning of this?"
The smug looking bat came forward and answered, "Your highness I was~" The young bat with the female bat came forward, "Save it Mikes." He interrupted and looked at the scared younger bat in the guards hands, "And you are?" The younger bat was shacking and actually backing up against the guard who had him was the one who answered, "His name is Barry, and he is being accused of thief." The guard shot a hatred filled glare at Mikes who was still looking smug, the bat looked at both the guard and the young bat for a while then relaxed, "I can tell you're a very protective mate."
Barry seemed even more scared and quietly whimpered out, "I-i d-didn't do anything my prince, Mikes tried t-to take the necklace that Author gave me for our mating night I swear." Small tears were falling down his face as he shook, "That is a plain out lie and you know it, I saw you steal them." Mikes snarled scaring Barry even more, "Dimitri we need to get your father." This seamed to scare Barry even more as he cried, the young bat who is known as Dimitri spoke up again, "No we do not mother."
The Queen seemed confused at this, "Dimitri why not that necklace is more high class than~" Dimitri interrupted her by answering, "Because I gave Author the necklace as a thank you for saving Dandi from the owl and told him to give it to Barry as a courting present." This seemed to take the Queen and Mikes by surprised, Dimitri walked over toward Mikes and grabbed the necklace and growled, "I better not catch you trying to take this away from him again." And walked away from him and gave it back to Barry who took it and held it close, "Thank you Prince Dimitri."
Barry quietly said as he put the necklace back on with the help of Author who was soon purring in hopes of calming his scared mate, "If that is all, Author." The guard looked up, "Yes my Prince." Dimitri gave a heated glare at Mikes who was trying to shrink away from it, "See to it that Mikes is punished." This seemed to please the guard but anger Mikes, "Why I didn't do anything!" He yelled and soon regretted it as Dimitri eyes turned from blue to blood red and growled, "What was that, I could not hear you?"
Mikes grew silent as he bowed his head in apologies, Dimitri calmed down and glared at Mikes, "The next time you decide to mess with a PREGNANT bat don't." This caught everyone by surprise even Author who looked down at his mate in surprise, "I apologize for ruining the surprise Barry."
Barry didn't seem to care as he was soon pampered by his mate who soon turned around and walked toward Mikes and growls, "If I lose my child you die" With that said Author picked his mate up and left, "Mikes you are not and never will be my companion you are dismiss."
Dimitri turns away and walks back toward his mother and looked out the window again, "Oh and Mikes, expect Author to be at your home for your punishment." Mikes just growled, "Humph, no wonder you have no friends, you're a heartless creature." And left, after hearing that the Queen was furious, "How dare he, talk to you like that."
She turned toward Dimitri only to see his back toward her, "Angel, sweety are you ok?" Dimitri just shrugged and said nothing he just looked out the hole again, "I am fine mother... Just wondering." This seemed to confuse the Queen, "About what sweet wing?"
Dimitri just hummed and turned to face his mother, "It's just... I see so many of our people together and yet I've never found anyone mate or friend wise." Dimitri paused as he saw Author holding Barry in a loving way, "I'm not even sure which gender I like yet." He huffed out only to hear his mother giggle, "Oh Angel eyes you will know your mate when you meet him or her." Dimitri just huffed and turned away from the hole and looked at his mother and nodded.
Of course what they didn't know was that day was coming... And soon too.
