              Gingertalon a young apprentice of the soon to retire healer Blackleaf was visiting her father the next deputy to be named, but not quite yet,Gingertalon walked up to her father Sparroweye and said " father prey is running low and Blackleaf is hungry and she gets sick if she eats  mice or blue birds witch is all we have."Gingertalon's own tummy was growling when her father said "I'll send out a patrol to get some pray" at that Gingertalon nod her head and flew back to the large oak tree it the center of camp.  "Blackleaf we are low on shanon root!" Gingertalon yelled from in side the tree where all the medicine  is kept "well go get some and take two Tree-guards with you!" Blackleaf's voice cracked as she yelled. Gingertalon went to find her sister Lowfeather , who was already a Tree-guard,  Gingertalon saw Lowfeather teaching her New-learner how to catch different kinds of pray Gingertalon walked up to Lowfeather and said "Lowfeather will you come with me to reed's river to get some shanon root" Gingertalon squeaked "you can take your apprentice, Flowertalon"Lowfeather thought for awhile then spoke" I would be happy to come with you, but  Flowertalon has to feed the elders because she got a little nosey" Lowfeather said looking ashamed at her apprentice and at the same time mad "well we better get going" Gingertalon said trying to change the subject.

                  At reed's river Gingertalon and Lowfeather found some shanon root and ginger flowers witch they would need as they traveled to moonstone mountain in a couple of days when Gingertalon would be a healer and Blackleaf would go join the Story-teller in their tree. "Gingertalon! do you smell that?" Lowfeather said, Gingertalon took one breath and smelled No-wings all the owls hated No-wing once they took the best healer, Oakfeaters "yes Lowfeather I can smell it" Gingertalon said with a tone in her voice that sounded deadly "we better tell Salmonstreem!"Gingertalon's voice was rough "COME ON!"Lowfeather said as she flew to the leader of the flock's tree and not far behind was Gingertalon

            

             "And we think they might be here" Gingertalon finished talking to Salmonstreem "those no good No-wings. well we will be moving to the hot river in White-fall, with the horrible Tiger clan cats. every year they bug us!" Samonstreem replied "yes they are horrible those cats" Low feather said "on the bright side" Gingertalon try to change the subject "I will be a healer in two suns" please change thesubject, please! Gingertalon said to herself " yes that is good news" Salmonstreem said happily then looked to Lowfeather "get some other Tree-guards and go on a scout and make sure the path to Moonstone Mountain is clear" he said deep voiced "yes sir" Lowfeather said and flew out of the nest and to the Tree-guards nest. Gingertalon flew out of the leaders nest and into the hole in the healer's tree she placed the shanon root in a pile and then the ginger flowers in a pile Gingertalon flew to the ground to get some prey and saw Deadwind, Whitebeak, Ashrain, and Lowfeather go out to scout then she saw Salmonstreem go, but not on a scout she figured he was going to get some fresh air. Gingertalon flew into the nest of the healer's nest and saw Blackleaf eating a worm. "Blackleaf I got the shanon root and some ginger flowers" Gingertalon said "good we need that. Marywings has been in stress lately you need to take some mint leaves to her" Blackleaf replied "yes Blackleaf" Gingertalon said flying to the ground and in to a hole in the soil where the Hatchling-mothers lived while they cared for their hatchlings "Marywings! I have some mint leaves for you" Gingertalon yelled into the hole "I don't need it! I'm perfectly fine!" Marywings replied Gingertalon when all the way into the hole "you do need it. or your stress is going to make you tried"she said "I don't care!" Marrywings yelled at that Gingertalon got out of the hole and to the Prey-pile and got a mouse and shoved the mint leaves into the mouth of the mouse and to drain the smell she covered the mouse with mouse dung then gave it to Marywings and finally went to the healer's nest for a good nights sleep
