I was running towards my home, running fast. I was hoping that I was in time to see my father again. As I cleared the last of the thick brush of the forest and saw my home...the village I lived in. I was hoping that I would see all the smiling faces of my friends and family. I was dead wrong. As I walked closer I noticed that it was too quiet. "Father?! Emily?! Sarah?! Anyone?!" I walked up to the river nearby and stopped. Tears welled up in my eyes and I dropped to my knees. Everyone that I know and loved in my village was dead...even my father. The scene was gruesome. I wish a fragile mind like mine did not witness what I saw.
I shot up in bed, crying and screaming. I felt arms wrap around me and a low voice say, "Baby it's okay. I'm here. I got you."
"I can't...I just..."
"It's okay. Let it out. I know it hurts."
"I can't keep that event in the back of my mind."
"I know baby but you're strong. Even though that event is still haunting you it might be a sign for something."
"What?"
"You know how sometimes you get deja vu and realize it was once a dream you had?"
"Yes."
"Maybe something is going to happen. Maybe you have more family out there somewhere."
"I hope you're right."
He turned my face to look at him and wiped my tears away with his thumbs. He smiled, "Think positive baby girl." He kissed my forehead, cheeks, nose, and then my lips. "I love you."
"I love you too."

The day that I found out that my father and my entire village was dead I was only 5 years old. That day I dug everyone a grave. They deserved a proper burial. It took me almost a week to finish. I can still remember the smell of their bodies decomposing. After that I spent the next two years by myself in the same village. Hunting, cooking, and training myself by myself.
On one particular day though everything changed. I was deep in the forest with my bow and a couple arrows hunting. I was watching a bore walking around nearby. I grabbed an arrow and drew back my bow. I steadied my breathing. I aimed right behind it's ear and shot. The bore squealed in agony and I ran up to it as I collapsed to the ground. I walked over it and pulled out my knife from inside my boot and finished it off. The squealing stopped and I pat it's belly. "Thank you for feeding me Sir Bore. I shall create food out of you in different ways." As I pulled out my knife and cleaned it I heard a crack behind me. I quickly grabbed my bow and readied it, turning around in the process. "Who's there?" I scanned the area. "Show yourself."
I heard movement and a boy came out from behind a tree covered in blood. I relaxed and brought my bow down. This boy was slightly darker than I was for I had caramel colored skin. He had almond shaped eyes and full lips. I couldn't tell his body shape for he had very baggy clothing on but I knew he was around my age. "Could you help me please? My family...they're..." He started crying.
"That's their blood on you isn't it?" He nodded. "My family was killed two years ago. I know how you are feeling."
"I just finished burying them. My mother and my brother."
"You could stay with me. I've just caught dinner for the night."
"Really?"
"Yes. I have clothes you can wear and I can cook. It's just me anyways."
"Thank you. Thank you so much. I greatly appreciate this."
"You're welcome." I picked up the bore and then looked back at the boy. "What's your name kid?"
"Kza."
I smiled, "Nice to meet you Kza. I'm Kitty."
And since that day Kza and I got closer and closer until eventually we became lovers.
