BUZZZZZZZZZZ. BUZZZZZZZZZZ. BUZZZZZZZZZZ.
The speed demon slapped his hand on the alarm and it immediately stopped vibrating. He sat up –quills sticking out in all directions– and made his way to the bathroom to get ready for another day in school.
Half-awake, the blue hedgehog twisted the doorknob, and stumbled into the restroom. He picked up the toothbrush in one swift move, placing it into his mouth and rotated his hand in an anti-clockwise fashion.
A fluff of pink wrapped her warm arms around Sonic's waist softly, holding him close to her as she nuzzled her head on his shoulder. He froze in his position, muscles stiffening. He knew that it was none other then Amy who was hugging him, and on any normal occasion he would've shook her off, but this was different. She wasn't caging him in a death trap.
It was gentle.
It was warm and soft he couldn't believe it was her hugging him. He was overwhelmed with emotions. He loved the feeling of her arms around him so affectionately and yet hated being trapped so close the same time. He wanted to escape from her arms really terribly and yet wanted to stay where he was and continue enjoying the rush of comfort flowing through him. No, he can't like this. He didn't want to send the wrong message to Amy, he didn't wanna get into a relationship with her.
It would only bring them down.
"Leggo Amy, I'm getting uncomfortable." The blue blur commanded lazily through a mouthful of toothpaste and foam. The hedgehog uncoiled herself, brushing her fringe from her face, uncovering the dazzling green orbs that hid behind her silky pink quills. She gave him a smile; A smile that would melt anybody's heart. "It was an appreciation hug for giving me a place to live for awhile. I-I kinda don't have my own place anymore."
"I lost my job at the bakery and I didn't feel well enough to go to school. I didn't wanna worry Cream or Sally either, so when you knocked into me I just asked you instead." A hint of sadness was inevitable in her voice, but she was smiling nontheless. "And this way, I get to be with my Blue Hero!"
She gave Sonic a tight squeeze, knocking the wind out of his lungs, before leaving the bathroom with a wink. "By the way, I made breakfast for you and Tails."
He stared at her retreating figure, her skirt swinging side to side to the beat of her footsteps. So she really was homeless.

The blue hedgehog waved goodbye to the two-tailed fox and recieved another deadly hug from Amy before he entered his first period classroom, which was already packed with students, all either talking, napping, or hurrying to finish their uncompleted homework.
A wave of giggling girls immediately flooded around Sonic, asking for a date, gushing compliments or sighing dramatically at different senarios of him in respective dressing codes.
He gave them his signature smile and placed his hands into his pockets, answering any question the crowd of fangirls shot at him. A snow coloured owl tugged at his arm excitedly, blue eyes sparkling. "Are you free this Saturday? There's this new café that opened in town and I thought you might wanna go with me!"
"I'll check."
"Are you and Sara dating, Sonic? She's a total player you know!" A dark yellow lioness from the crowed blurted out.
"Nah."
"Omigosh, you HAVE to go to my party this Friday Sonic!" A maroon raccoon squealed.
"Sorry, maybe next time. I've got plans this Friday."
"You owe me something you donkey-hole!" A male voice shrieked as a parting formed in the middle of the sea of girls who were all gasping in shock. Harsh whispers spread around the fan girls like wildfire. The silver hedgehog stood there for a moment, golden eyes invigilating Sonic's every move, before ambling forward to him. He folded his arms across his chest and leaned forward, a smirk dancing on his face. "Did you forget?"
