Aiden

"Aiden, what have you done now?" My father sighed as he sat in front of me on the wide dining table.

"Dad, I just went to buy groceries from the supermarket for myself. Is it so wrong?" I said in frustration, running my hands through my hair.

<A day ago>

"Mr Maxwell, why did you go to the supermarket yesterday?"

"Mr Maxwell, is there no one who is able to buy your groceries?"

"Why are you buying groceries on your own? Is it for another woman?"

The paparazzi continued bombarding their questions at me and the bodyguards that my father has hired tried their best to keep them away.

<End of flashback>

"There's nothing wrong, but don't you know how the media is nowadays? Their ability to make up stories... You see for yourself," my father gave up on explaining and passed me two newspapers, one with the headlines "Maids in the Maxwell Household On Strike" and the other "Maxwell Son Buying Groceries for Hidden Lover".

I rolled my eyes. What is wrong with the media nowadays? Who the hell makes a big fuss over someone buying groceries from the supermarket?

From the second I was born, until now—eighteen years, almost every moment of my life has been publicized. And as if that wasn't enough, the paparazzi still has to exaggerate on such minor stuff.

"I'm sorry dad. I'll get the maids to get groceries for me next time," I apologized, knowing what a scandal I had caused. It's ridiculous, really, but I guess that's what happens when you're a Maxwell.

"It's okay, son, please try to stay home these few days," my dad said before walking up to his study.

Dad has been really patient with me, despite the many scandals I have caused. I know that this time, it's gonna take quite some time and resources to clear up the scandal.

I heaved a sigh and went back to my room. Is there something I can do to get away from all these?

The first thing that came to mind was to leave home.

It was the only solution to all my problems.

I looked outside my window. There were still tons of reporters outside and almost all the bodyguards are out there keeping them away.

If I escape now, it would be easy peasy.

With a smirk, I packed the things that I needed in my bag pack and left my room.

As a kid, I liked to venture around the house and once, I accidentally came across a hidden underground tunnel which leads to the mansion's back gate. Since then, I have always used the tunnel to leave my house so that no bodyguards can follow me around.

Bidding a last good bye to the house that I've grown accustomed to, I left.
