Emma's POV
I sat back in my chair in defeat. It was almost 9 pm, and I was still at the station, trying to track down Mr. Hyde. I sighed, rubbing my temples and staring at the old computer screen on my desk. I heard the front door open, but didn't bother to look up, assuming it was my dad.
"You know, Swan, I didn't really peg you as the kind of woman to stand a man up. Especially on our two year anniversary." Killian sighed, striding towards me. I widened my eyes and stood up.
"I'm so sorry Killian. I got so caught up in the whole Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde thing. I just-" I was quickly cut off by his lips, dominating mine I melted into his touch.
"It's okay Love. It's just that, well, I guess that we can go to Granny's." He smiled. Killian was acting really nervous, but I just couldn't figure out why.
"Okay. Let's go." I replied, giving him a small kiss on his cheek. He responded with a kiss to the top of my head.
We walked into the diner, and I saw that my parents, Regina, Henry, Violet, the dwarves and Archie were there. My parents were sitting with Regina, and it looked like Henry and Violet were on a date. My overprotective mother instincts began to kick in, but of course, before I could do anything, Killian stopped me.
"Let them be Love. She's a good lass. I've been keeping eye on them lately and I know she's good for him. Anyways, this night is about us. Not your son and his girlfriend, not your parents, and Regina. You and me, Emma." Killian whispered in my ear.
"Okay, let's go sit down." I replied. We walked to the back of the diner, away from everyone. As we approached booth at the very back of the restaurant, I could see rose petals on the floor.
"Um, Killian? How did you know that I wasn't going to show up at the restaurant earlier?" I asked, looking up at my dashing rapscallion of a boyfriend.
"I've said it before Love. You're somewhat of an open book. I knew that you, my gorgeous Swan, would forget because she was stressed about the latest villain in town. I think someone forgot that we have to live amidst the crisis." He replied simply.
"Wow, you're good! Let's eat though. I'm just so tired." We sat down, but instead of him sitting across from me, Killian sat next to me.
"Here Love, lay your head on my shoulder." He smiled softly.
"No, I don't want to sleep on our anniversary night. I'm fine." I argued.
"Okay." He smiled, leaning in to kiss me. I met him halfway, and our lips connected. It was a soft kiss, but it was filled with so many emotions. When we separated, we kept our foreheads together, smiling at each other.
"Earth to Emma and Killian! Are you guys gonna eat? Or are you just gonna sit here?" Ruby asked jokingly. We pulled away from each other, despite what we both wanted.
"I'll have the chicken parmesan and a rum. And for the lady, a grilled cheese sandwich, onion rings, and a hot chocolate with cinnamon. Thanks Ruby." Killian said, his eyes still locked on mine.
"Okay... That'll be out in a few minutes. Man, you dying changed your relationship. A lot." Ruby said, walking away.
"We really have changed, haven't we?" I asked.
"Of course we have. We've changed for the better, the happier, Swan." He replied with a kiss to the top of my head.
"We also love like we won't be here tomorrow." I sighed.
"Precisely. That's the exact reason I want to do this." Killian said, standing up. He pulled a box out of his jacket pocket, and got down on one knee.
"Emma Swan, when we met, we were both broken, lost, and we felt unwanted. We were scarred, and terrified. For the past few years, you have changed that all for me. You have given me a home, and all of your love, so now I'm willing to give you my life, again. I love you Swan, and I always will, for eternity and a day. You're all I've ever wanted and more, so will you please do me the honor, of becoming my Mrs. Killian Jones? Will you marry me?" He proposed.
There were tears running down my cheeks as I ran out of the diner. It wasn't even a minute before Killian came bolting outside towards me.
"Swan, I'm so sorry. I knew you weren't ready for something like that. I shouldn't have pushed you, especially in front of your family." He said. I had to shut him up, so I kissed him. He was the one to pull away, looking confused.
"I didn't want to say yes in front of all those people." I smiled.
"Are you saying-" I cut Killian short, already knowing the end of his question.
"Yes. I want to marry you." I smiled.
Killian's face lit up like a Christmas tree as he slipped the ring on my finger, and he lifted me into a kiss. I heard the door open, many sets of footsteps, and the door closing. I pulled away, still smiling in his arms. Killian set me down, and we faced the small mob of people in front of us.
"She said yes!" Killian yelled. There was a huge round of applause.
"Kiss him mom!" Henry yelled. I looked at him, then looked at my fiance.
I placed my hands on either one of his cheeks, pulling his lips down to mine. It was a soft kiss, just because Henry, Violet, and my parents were there. There was an even larger round of applause, but I didn't care. We continued to kiss, until my father cleared his throat.
My dad was glaring at Killian, but Killian just smiled cheesily and waved his hand. My cheeks flushed red with embarrassment, and I hid my face in Killian's jacket.
After a few minutes of dealing with everyone, I began to get very overwhelmed. Killian noticed, and quietly, we left for home. I looked down at my left hand and smiled. Killian and I were going to get married, and for once in my life, taking a huge step like that didn't scare me in the least.
